Historia
St. Augustine begins with a statement of what is to be investigated concerning nature and grace; he shows that nature, as propagated from the flesh of the sinful Adam, being no longer what God made it at first - faultless and sound - requires the aid of grace in order that it may be redeemed from the wrath of God and regulated for the perfection of righteousness.

Augustine Is Very Wise!
Revisado: 02-28-22
It is no wonder that St. Augustine is called a Doctor of the Church. This book is one of his many writings that illustrate what made him a legacy. As a parent, I have prayed often for the intercession of St. Augustine and his mother, St. Monica, as I have raised my own children.

Historia
Except for a short poem by St. Mark of Monte Cassino, the only ancient written account of St. Benedict (480 - 547) is this one, which is found in Pope Gregory I's Dialogues which is thought to have been written in 593. Gregory's account of this saint's life provides a spiritual portrait of the gentle, disciplined abbot. In a letter to a Bishop of Syracuse, Gregory states that his aim in writing his Dialogues was to provide a kind of an anthology, or literally, "flowers", of the most striking miracles of the Italian saint.

Now I Understand!
Revisado: 11-01-21
Prior to this book, I had no idea what St. Benedict was known for or had any idea of how many encounters he had with the devil. Now that I understand he was given the gift of casting out satan, I pray for his intercession often. This book was an entertaining compilation of his encounters with the evil one.
