Historia
Lina Meisel, a retired librarian in Florida, is reading the newspaper one morning when she freezes. Her eyes lock on a photograph of a book she hasn’t seen in 65 years - a book she recognizes as The Book of Lost Names. The accompanying article discusses the looting of libraries by the Nazis across Europe during World War II - an experience Lina remembers well - and the search to reunite people with the texts stolen from them so long ago. The book in the photograph is one of the most fascinating cases.

5 stars but felt there were gaps
Revisado: 07-17-22
5 stars and excellent read but I feel parts and storylines were cut out to make this book into the now well known 300ish page or 10-12 hour audiobook format of WWII period books of recent. Hoping there is a sequel or parallel storyline released from another character.

Historia
A young woman arrives at the grand ancestral home of her husband’s family, hoping to fortify her cracking marriage. But what she finds is not what she expected: tragedy haunts the hallways, whispering of heartache and a past she never knew existed. Inspired by the true titans of the steel-boom era, Bethlehem is a story of temptation and regret, a story of secrets and the cost of keeping them, a story of forgiveness. It is the story of two complex women - thrown together in the name of family - who, in coming to understand each other, come finally to understand themselves.

3 stars for story, 5 stars for historical detail
Revisado: 12-27-19
If you have visited or lived in or around the Lehigh valley or went to Lehigh or have family that was upper management in Bethlehem Steel you NEED to read this for the historical accuracy.
The character plot was secondary, a bit predictable but enjoyable. If you’re reading this book for a character plot line 3.7/5. Historical accuracy 5/5.
