Historia
In the woods where human lands meet fae, an ancient king born before the history of men finds a dying baby. Iohmar will take in the child and care for him until a suitable home in the human realm is found. But best laid plans often go awry in the lands of Látwill, where winds carry fae across the star-strewn sky, the woods ensnare the weak-minded with their sinister song, and even Iohmar, King Beneath the Earth, is susceptible to the will of the immortal mountains.

A Wistful Magical Listen
Revisado: 02-03-23
Such a sweet story, a bit melancholy at times but full of tenderness. The narrator is nice to listen to when falling asleep.

Someone needs to tell the narrator how to pronounce names. It’s very rattling and jarring to hear them pronounced so horribly!

Not My Favorite
Revisado: 01-09-23
I love all of Gail’s books, I listen to them over and over but I could not make it through this one and decided to ultimately return it unfinished. I love these two characters but this didn’t really help them shine like the other delightfully deadly novels did…a major issue was the character names. I was constantly saying ‘who are they talking about?’ Because this narrator pronounce them so differently. The time jumps were also a bit tedious listening-wise, might have been easier when reading the text but that’s one of the things I love most about Gail’s books is that they are such fun to listen to, ya know?

Absolutely Delightful
Revisado: 04-07-17
Anyone who enjoys Carrigers Parasol Protectorate series will love this dive back into the universe with a more youthful twist to it. Sephronia is a charming protagonist who I really enjoyed along with a wonderful cast of characters including some crossover from the protectorate! I would highly recommend this for a good steampunk Victoria adventure, with more youthful enthusiasm than any sort of romance, though I imagine later in the series we may see some of that. At least I hope so!

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

Great listen!
Revisado: 06-13-16
The narrator for this book is amazing. The story is a great and an interesting listen. Though the middle dragged a bit the end was great and you'll really wanna get to the next book as soon as possible.
