Historia
In a stunning unification of modern science, religion, and spirituality, God 4.0 presents a provocative new view of transcendence and connection as the activation of an innate quiescent faculty in the brain, a second system of cognition we all share. If developed, it can help to dissolve religious, tribal and cultural biases and usher in a higher level of conscious connection — a new “spiritual literacy.”

An immense gift to humanity
Revisado: 07-17-23
Starting with the first stirring of humanity in caves filled with art Ornstein weaves the history of humankind through the transition from hunter gatherer to farming and the first communities with beginnings of animist religion to a breathtaking summary of thought in the first cities to the religions of the axial age and the Abrahamic tradition to Muhammad. Not a word is without deep meaning. He ends with a blinding exposition of the potential of humanity in the arrival of ways fusing mysticism and the best of modern science to open paths to the future of humanity, a brilliant spiritual awakening we must all work to bring about. He ends with a piece by the Sufi master idries Shah. There has never been a book like it or of greater value.

A book of the straight path

I am in deep grief at the loss of my son. This book helped me understand this loss. I understand Muhammad’s grief at the loss of his child Ibrahim. I am certain that my beautiful son was welcomed by the Lord. God is most merciful and most compassionate. Allah hu akbar

Historia
The Commanding Self, in Sufic terminology, is that mixture of the primitive and conditioned responses, common to everyone, which inhibits and distorts human progress and understanding. This audiobook was described by Shah as the key to understanding his entire corpus of work. While complete in itself as an anthology of hitherto unpublished work, it serves to illustrate and amplify Idries Shah’s preceding books on the Sufi Way.

I got this book when it first came out. By some wizards of the publishing or typesetting art, it is definitely not the same book
I read 20 years ago, Sorcery. A very unusual writing style, exceptionally subtle, Seemingly disparate elements connect intimately on subsequent readings, The insights offered into the structure and function of the mind are unlike anything else I have ever read, Shah reaches beyond the surface on mentation to a deeper substrate that one barely perceived until he enlightens the reader of its existence, Our salvation as a species lies in understanding this book

Historia
A treasure house of teaching materials, assembled in the Sufi manner. Seeker After Truth contains both traditional tales and stories gleaned from contemporary sources, and snippets of table talk, discussions and teachings, letters, and lectures by Idries Shah. Taken together, it constitutes a handbook of materials designed to provoke a different kind of thought.

"review" I am not worthy of this activity. I can only say these tales are like time bombs of insight that somehow go off in the mind only long after they are read and one has had sufficient life experience to recognize the pattern that lay beneath them, Some still remain mysteries to me. I wish others understanding of all of them. I continue to study and reread this volume.
