Loved the story and the narrator was great but I feel robbed!
Revisado: 05-07-21
The story stopped SO suddenly, with absolutely NOTHING wrapped up. No ending what so ever. Really because I easily got involved in the story. Even a sad ending would have been satisfying.

Loved it!
Revisado: 05-31-17
I loved the variety of readers. It added to the great story to have different voices.
I do wish there had been a prologue so I could have heard a little bit about the future of our main characters. The story stopped slightly too abruptly; I was red a little more time to enjoy the events at the end!

I LOVED this book.
Revisado: 10-24-16
I'm in my early 50's and so enjoyed reading about a 45 year old mom and grandma. I love the author's narration! I would find it so much fun to have lunch with most any one of the characters in the book (or the author!). To me, that's one good way to judge a story; do I like, and find believable, the characters enough to want to spend time with them? I'm sad this story is over. ( another sign of a good read!!)

Historia
Georgia Chambers has spent her life sifting through other people's pasts while trying to forget her own. But then her work as an expert on fine china - especially Limoges - requires her to return to the one place she swore she'd never revisit. It's been 13 years since Georgia left her family home on the coast of Florida, and nothing much has changed except that there are fewer oysters and more tourists.

Historia
This transcendent story follows four college friends who move to New York City, buoyed by ambition: Willem, an aspiring actor; JB, an artist; Malcolm, an architect; and, at the center, Jude, a withdrawn, brilliant attorney haunted by an unspeakable past. Through decades of shared and separate lives, Jude’s suffering - and its impact on those who love him - raises questions about the limits of human endurance, the possibility for redemption, and the meaning of friendship.

Intense, sad, compelling.
Revisado: 07-29-16
This story was tragic and sad much of the time but I listened, enthralled in these men's lives. It was difficult to think of the horrors that Jude lived through but so very touching and amazing that he had a " family" of friends.
