Historia
The death of the Roman Empire is one of the perennial mysteries of world history. Now, in this groundbreaking book, Peter Heather proposes a stunning new solution: Centuries of imperialism turned the neighbors Rome called barbarians into an enemy capable of dismantling an Empire that had dominated their lives for so long. A leading authority on the late Roman Empire and on the barbarians, Heather relates the extraordinary story of how Europe's barbarians, transformed by centuries of contact with Rome on every possible level, eventually pulled the empire apart.

Excellent and Thorough
Revisado: 06-18-23
Heather's Fall of the Roman Empire is a thorough grounding in the events that led to the fall of the Western Roman Empire. However, the narrator throughout the audiobook refers to Arles as Aries, and as there is an actual Aries in France it might be confusing to someone just listening to this audiobook.

Excellent

I found this introduction to Arabic fairly easy to follow, and grateful for it's review work as well as new vocabulary. Took me about 3 listens per lesson to get the hang of new vocab to the degree that I wanted.

Natural law is the idea that there is an objective moral order, grounded in essential humanity, that holds universal and permanent implications for the ways we should conduct ourselves as free and responsible human beings. These 24 in-depth lectures consider the arguments for natural law, the serious objections that have been raised against it, and the ways, despite all overt criticisms, it remains a vital and even pervasive force in political, moral, and social life today, even while traveling under another name.

An Excellent Introduction to the Theory of Natural
Revisado: 05-31-23
He is clear and concise in his lectures. Moreover, he goes into excellent detail. My only criticism is that he seems to attach his own religious beliefs to Natural Law Theory, and while he gives good argumentation for it outside of scripture the arguments are in no way conclusive, but seem exploratory. Introductions to the arguments, if you will.

These 12 illuminating lectures paint a rich and detailed portrait of the life, works, and ideas of this remarkable figure, whose own search for God has profoundly shaped all of Western Christianity. You'll learn what Augustine taught and why he taught it – and how those teachings and doctrines helped shape the Roman Catholic Church. These lectures are rewarding even if you have no background at all in classical philosophy or Christian theology.

Excellent Introductory Study to Augustine
Revisado: 05-20-23
This course is a suburb introduction to Augustine, his thought, and his work. The presentation is broken up into clear topics which the presenter speaks about at length in a simple, engaging manner, beginning with Augustine's biographical Confessions, then getting in relative depth about the thought and theological stances of the Saint.

Great Introduction to Islam
Revisado: 05-20-23
This provides an excellent introduction to Islam, but conflicts to some degree with Western historiography especially in regards to the Crusades: Ahmad clearly sees the Crusades through the lens of colonialism. However, it is a very good way to see history in the terms of how Muslims themselves see it.
