Rednecks with British Accents?

I enjoy this series. After reading it a few times, I decided to listen to it. The narration was totally off putting. He’s not a bad narrator, but he is not right for this series. Many of the characters are from Oklahoma and Tennessee, and portions of the book take place in these states. It’s quite jarring having all of these people speaking with a British accent. I would recommend reading these three instead of listening to them.

Enjoyable

For the most part, I found this book to be enjoyable. The narrator was great. I will say that the story was a little slow to get started, and the resolution of the major conflict was not truly believable; however, if you suspend your disbelief, you will find the story to be an enjoyable listen.

Unlike the other reviewers, this book did not click with me. In fact, had I not received a free copy to review, I would have returned it without finishing it. Despite the fact that is a relatively short book, it took me a while to get through it. The thing I had the biggest problem with was the fact that I kept feeling as though I forgot to read the first book in the series. I felt lost in the beginning. By the end, I thought the book was OK; however, I'm not really interested in the rest of the series.

Cute and Sweet Second Chance Romance

Like the rest of the series, I found this book to be quite enjoyable. Andre was sweet and lovable while Jude does demonstrate that he is a redeemable guy worthy of forgiveness. I have two problems with e book. First, I think that the conflict is resolved way too quickly. Second, the narrator's voice grates on my nerves when he is speaking for certain characters, especially Andre's older brother. Overall, this is a short, quick read that I fully recommend.

I don't know why I waited

I have read all of the other books in this series, both before and after. For some reason, however, I didn't read this it. When I had the opportunity to review a copy for free, I took a chance. I can honestly say I don't know why I was avoiding the book because I found it to be enjoyable. The characters were likeable. My only problem with the book was that when one of the characters was a TOTAL JERK the other forgave him way too quickly to seem realistic. If you would like a quick, enjoyable read, give this one a try.

Truly Enjoyable

I really liked listening to this book. The characters were round and dynamic instead of being the flat, static characters one often finds in m/m romance. I enjoyed that these enemies turned lovers did not get together so quickly as to make there past seem unbelievable. The bully had to work for it, and the victim held his ground. While I’m not crazy about this narrator, he is not bad. I would recommend this book for a light afternoon listen. (I received a copy of this audio book in exchange for my honest review.)

Overall, I enjoyed this book. I liked the main characters, and I found their relationship sweet. My biggest problem with the story is Oliver's irrational animosity towards Ronan in the beginning. Based on the information provided in the book, his extreme dislike did not make a lot of sense.

I will say that I almost didn't finish the book. I did not like the narrator, and I was ready to call it quits after fifteen minutes because I did not like his phrasing or some of his voices. However, as I received this audio book for free in exchange for my honest review, I felt as though I needed to finish it, and I'm glad that I did. While the narrator did grow on me, the narration is what kept this from being a four-star book for me.

Pretty Good Book

Overall, I enjoyed this book, though not as much as other books I have read by this author (this is the first time I've listened to one). The characters were enjoyable, though I will say that Quinton seems just a little too perfect and Theo a little too immature at times. I thought that the pacing of the story was nice, and the narrator did a pretty good job.

****SLIGHT SPOILERS*** My biggest problem was the lack of resolution with Theo's father. He treats his father pretty badly at the beginning, leaves, and then nothing. Theo comes across as ungrateful. I also don't really like that things are left unfinished between Theo and his dance "friend."*****END OF SPOILERS*****

If you have a few hours to kill and want something easy and fairly entertaining to listen to, this book will do the trick nicely.

Bad Narration

While I highly recommend reading this book (and the rest of the series), I do not recommend listening to it. The narrator sounds as though he is bored. There is no inflection in his voice, and his phrasing sometimes makes it difficult to know who is speaking.

I really enjoyed the humor of Roman learning to "walk like a man." The character development is also very good.
