Historia
Elsa is seven years old and different. Her grandmother is 77 years old and crazy, standing-on-the-balcony-firing-paintball-guns-at-men-who-want-to-talk-about-Jesus crazy. She is also Elsa's best and only friend. At night Elsa takes refuge in her grandmother's stories, in the Land of Almost-Awake and the Kingdom of Miamas, where everybody is different and nobody needs to be normal.

Amazing book
Revisado: 07-01-17
I enjoyed this book very much. I am not sure I would have enjoyed it as well if I had read it. The narrator did a good job with this one.

One of the best books I have ever heard!!!
Revisado: 07-05-16
Would you listen to The Pecan Man again? Why?
Possibly.
What did you like best about this story?
From the start to the finish, this was a great book. This book is similar To Kill a Mockingbird. The author does a wonderful job of everything a good book needs. The setting was perfect. I am from the South, so I totally identified with the setting and the dialect of the characters. The reader of this book did an excellent job with the dialect. Sometimes people try to mimic a Southern accent and sound really fake. This narrator did an excellent job. There was suspense in the book. The plot was believable. The ending didn't disappoint either.
Which character – as performed by Suzanne Toren – was your favorite?
The main character, Ms. Ora and her housekeeper, Blanche are tied for my favorites.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I could have if I had the time.

Great story!
Revisado: 06-10-16
At first I thought the narrator was not very good, but then I began to realize that he was perfect for the main character's voice. This book makes you think twice about why people act the way they do. .what do they have buried that causes their actions? This book had all kinds of twists and turns and made you guess up until the end. I loved the characterization.

Nicely disturbing book
Revisado: 11-18-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in spiritual thrillers. I loved the set up of the book. It went from a news reporters account of the story to the events of the story. Really good fiction.

Great book all the way around!
Revisado: 09-01-14
Would you consider the audio edition of Waking Lazarus to be better than the print version?
I did not read the story, so I do not know the answer to that question.
Which character – as performed by Tom Stechschulte – was your favorite?
Jude
Who was the most memorable character of Waking Lazarus and why?
Frank was pretty memorable, just because I thought I had him figured out, but I was wrong!
Any additional comments?
This is a great book. It has everything that I like in a book. It was suspenseful, the characters were interesting and believeable. There were twists and turns and lots of surprises. There was no foul language that I remember. The only thing I wish that the author would have included is something that a lot of stories that deal with a life after death experience is missing....the truth. I know this was a fiction book, but since it is suppose to be a Christian book, I would have loved for the author to mention the way to heaven...through Jesus Christ and what he did to save humanity. Jesus said, "There is only one way to the Father..and that is by me."
