In 1980, a freshman congressman was gunned down in Rhode Island, sending shockwaves through Washington that are still reverberating over four decades later. Now, with the world on the brink of war and a weakened United States facing rampant inflation, political division, and shocking assassinations, a secret cabal of global elites is ready to assume control. And with the world’s most dangerous man locked in solitary confinement, the conspirators believe the final obstacle to complete domination has been eliminated. They’re wrong.

Buckle up… It’s a wild ride!
Revisado: 12-08-23
Ray Porter is great as always. He really brings James Reece, now a combination of Rambo and Jason Bourne, to life!
I enjoyed the deeper dive into the psyche of James Reece. For the first time, he feels truly vulnerable, mentally and physically.
Can’t wait for Book 7!!

I love this series, and this entry is no different. Though both more reflective and more unbelievable, it’s a journey I’m glad I went on.

On his last combat deployment, Lt. Cmdr. James Reece's entire team was killed in an ambush that also claimed the lives of the aircrew sent in to rescue them. But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government. Now, with no family and free from the military's command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he's learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward revenge.

Historia
In 1974 the brilliant and controversial Brian Clough made perhaps his most eccentric decision: he accepted the Leeds United Manager's job. As successor to Don Revie, his bitter adversary, he was to last 44 days. David Peace takes us into the mind and thoughts of Ol' Big 'Ead himself and brings vividly to life one of postwar Britain's most complex and fascinating characters.

I was immediately drawn into the relentless pace, and it was full throttle all the way to the end.

Brown allows great chiefs and warriors of the Dakota, Ute, Sioux, Cheyenne, and other tribes to tell us in their own words of the battles, massacres, and broken treaties that finally left them demoralized and defeated.

Hard. Sad. IMPORTANT!
Revisado: 06-04-23
The narration is a bit dry, but this book is worth hearing. Too often we neglect the most devastated side of history. It’s eye opening to hear about westward expansion from the point of view of the Native Americans.
