Historia
Before Liz Lemon, before Weekend Update, before Sarah Palin, Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: A recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live. Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've always suspected: You're no one until someone calls you bossy.

Couldn't get taken away with it
Revisado: 03-11-13
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Not really. This was just an ok book for me. I couldn't really get into it. I want to listen to and read books that I simply cannot be without. You know the ones that you just can't put down? Unfortunately, this one just didn't do it for me.
What three words best describe Tina Fey’s voice?
crisp, clean and nice. Her voice was fine to listen to.
Do you think Bossypants needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
For me, not really.

Absolutely my favorite audio book so far!
Revisado: 03-11-13
What made the experience of listening to The Good House the most enjoyable?
The fact that this book is based exactly where I live made it absolutely fascinating to listen to. It also has quite a few equestrian components to it, which I wasn't aware of when I purchased it. Since I own a horse and live in the same area, this book was very pleasurable for me to listen to. Furthermore, the narrator is fantastic! Just perfect in every way. I could listen to her (a/k/a Hilde) over and over again and I will probably listen to this book again!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Hilde is awesome.
What about Mary Beth Hurt’s performance did you like?
I liked her inflections and tone. I also like the way she did Frank's voice and her grandson and daughters. Absolutely hilarious at times.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I just love this book. I will definitely listen to it again.
Any additional comments?
Definitely buy this one. You won't be disappointed; especially if you live on the North Shore of Boston!

Good story!
Revisado: 03-11-13
Would you listen to In Cold Blood again? Why?
Yes, because I know I didn't get all of it the first time around. Its a slow start. Very wordy, in my opinion. I wanted it to go faster and get to the good stuff. When it finally got to the interesting part, I was happy. If I was reading this book, I would not have made it past Chapter 1. It's worth the listen.

Revisado: 09-21-12
If you could sum up Chicken Soup for the Soul: A Book of Miracles - 34 True Stories of Angels Among Us, Everyday Miracles and Divine Appointment in three words, what would they be?
kind.of.boring
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Kathy Garver. Holy cow! Her voice is so annoying. Tom Parks only read 1 or 2 stories and she did the rest. And please Kathy, stop doing character voices. They were so ridiculous and over dramatic! Every time she would change her voice into a character, I wanted to throw up. People driving near me in traffic probably thought I really was, because I continually made "throw up/gagging" facial expressions every time she did it!! I was so focused on her annoying reading, I couldn't feel very good about the stories; some of which almost seemed too ridiculous to even be real. I mean, did they even fact check any of these? They seemed very fictional, and I'm a believer!
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Kathy Garver and Tom Parks ?
Julia Whelan...Tom Parks can stay, but he needs to read more!! Why did he only read 2 stories out of 36??
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No; and not because of the stories...because of Kathy Garver.

On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge.

Amazing!! No pun intended...
Revisado: 09-21-12
What made the experience of listening to Gone Girl the most enjoyable?
The readers. They were so excellent! Smoothy, creamy voices, proper inflections and tones; it was easy to listen to all 19 hours of this book! I really liked the character voice changes.
What did you like best about this story?
The twists and turns...not knowing what could happen next. It could go anywhere at any time and that's what kept me listening.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
simply Amazing!
Any additional comments?
I was slightly disappointed with the ending. Without giving anything away, I just wanted more. It almost feels as though all the good ideas were used for the middle of the book, and by the end, there was not much thought left. I was hoping for more of a feel good, gotcha ending - but I didn't get one. Sad.

Historia
It was the trial that stunned America, the verdict that shocked us all. On July 5, 2011, nearly three years after her initial arrest, Casey Anthony walked away, virtually scot-free, from one of the most sensational murder trials of all time. She'd been accused of killing her daughter, Caylee, but the trial only left behind more questions: Was she actually innocent? What really happened to Caylee? Was this what justice really looked like?

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
If you were into the Casey Anthony trial (as I was) this is a must listen! I watched every day of the trial from beginning to end and watched many of the news shows that talked about the trial, both leading up to it and also after it was over. This book reveals things you never knew about and more importantly, discusses evidence that wasn't allowed into trial. Truly fascinating!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Casey Anthony, of course. And she truly is a character!
What does Jeff Ashton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Since Jeff is reading his own words, you cannot interprete them in any other way other than the way they were intended. I like this.

Revisado: 09-06-12
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
This book is full of information; however, I think it skips around a lot and is hard to follow. I don't mind the narrator's voice as much as others did. I actually think he does a nice job. It just has a confusing feel to it...one minute its about McDonalds, the next is politics, then it goes to crime and frozen food. It has no structure. I wanted to hear about what was in the food - not the history of the world.
What do you think your next listen will be?
I stopped half way through and switched over to Messages from the Other Side by John Holland.
What about Rick Adamson’s performance did you like?
He wasn't boring.
What did you take away from Fast Food Nation that you can apply to your work?
Nothing

Revisado: 09-06-12
Would you consider the audio edition of Messages from the Other Side to be better than the print version?
This audiobook is one of my favorites! John Holland is hilarious - who knew? He really disarms you with the jokes and puts you at ease. I guess you could say he is really down to earth (no pun intended).
What did you like best about this story?
The funny stories John shared about reading people and what it's like to be him, in general.
What about the narrator’s performance did you like?
He's just a cool guy from my part of town, which I can totally relate to.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The whole book is insightful and full of information. I have tickets to see John live next month, so this book was a great first step into finding out what's going to happen once I get there.
Any additional comments?
I was surprised that the book ended without any readings being shared. Its sort of an ubrupt ending that you don't see coming. That is the only thing I would change about this audiobook.

Incredible story!
Revisado: 09-06-12
Where does Night rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This one is at the top of my list, mostly because it is a first-hand account of what happened.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Night?
There are so many points that come to mind. After everything I have learned about the holocost and even after listening to this book, I still cannot understand how this happened...or, rather, how this was allowed to happen to so many people for no reason whatsoever.
What about George Guidall’s performance did you like?
George Guidall is an amazing narrator. I appreciate that he used the proper intonations; especially when speaking Hebrew.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I cried numerous times while listening to this book, which is difficult for me because I listen while commuting to and from work!
Any additional comments?
This is story that will need to be told forever -- over and over again, so history can never repeat itself. I feel terrible when I think about the countless number of people who had to endure this, but I am thankful that Elie Wiesel had the courage to share this with the world.

Amazing story!
Revisado: 08-21-12
Where does A Stolen Life rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This is an amazing story of how Jaycee was able to survive for so long under those ridiculous conditions forced upon her. I could not stop listening to her tell her story. I did skip past the grim details of the sexual abuse. Being an abuse survivor myself, I could not bear to hear her say what happened to her. I applaud her for giving the details; however, I could not stop thinking about how many perverts were listening to it over and over again. I wish that part was not in the book, but I realize that is part of her story and she should not be ashamed to tell it.
What did you like best about this story?
Jaycee's completely upbeat and optimistic outlook on life.
Have you listened to any of Jaycee Dugard’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I think this is her only one...but I could be wrong.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No. I needed to take breaks from the details every so often.
Any additional comments?
Well worth it. I've been wanting to buy this book for some time now. I'm glad I decided to get the audiobook instead of the regular hardcover. Hearing Jaycee tell it in her own voice gave it so much more meaning. You go girl!
