Historia
Anke Berben is ready to tell all. A legendary model and style icon, she reveled in headline-grabbing romances with not one but three members of the hugely influential rock band the Midnight Ramblers. The band members were as famous for their backstage drama as for their music, and Anke is the only one who fully understands the tangled relationships, betrayals, and suspicions that have added to the Ramblers’ enduring appeal and mystique. That is most evident in the mystery around Anke’s role in the death of Mal, the band’s founder and Anke’s husband, in 1969.

Not great but not bad
Revisado: 09-18-24
I went to book thinking it was going to read like Daisy Jones and the Six, with multiple perspectives being told throughout the chapters so unfortunately, I was a little disappointed that the narrator stayed the same throughout this whole book.
Overall, I have the story was slightly boring, at no point did I find myself needing to flip the page to find out what happened next. That’s not to say the book was bad, it just wasn’t my favorite. I wish there had been a little more drama or mystery. The narrator did a great job with different character voices though.

Just OK
Revisado: 08-22-24
Overall the story was interesting and kept me guessing, but there was no wow factor for me. I thought the narration was cheesy and could have been more natural sounding. Not my favorite, but not horrible either, just meh all around.

Historia
Amber Patterson Parrish has come a long way from being an invisible wallflower. Her hard work and immaculate planning have paid off now that she’s a prominent socialite, but that doesn’t mean there haven’t been bumps along the way. Less than a year since her husband Jackson’s tax-evasion scandal, Amber is still at the top of the Bishops Harbor community pecking order, free to do as she wishes while Jackson sits in prison. But that freedom is quickly coming to an end. With Jackson getting released from prison, Amber’s time—and money—is vanishing.

Loved this sequel!
Revisado: 07-07-24
Much like the first book sequel had a similar slow burn start, but once all the character back stories were established, there were lots of fun plot twist and turns throughout the story. My only issue was with the voice of Daphne. The woman reading sounded like a computer generated voice rather than an actual human reading it. All the other characters sounded great, but I really didn’t enjoy the narration of Daphne. Other than that small detail, I loved the sequel as much as the first!

Complicated. Devastating.

Great book!
Revisado: 04-23-24
I really got into both characters of this book. You understand them so well as the chapters continue. I know that I could relate to a lot of the toxic relationship dynamics that Lucy goes through with Stephen. The only thing that I didn’t love was the narration, both narrators were a little too monotone for my liking. Besides the lack-luster narration, I really enjoyed!

Historia
High-powered businesswoman Lana Rubicon has a lot to be proud of: her keen intelligence, impeccable taste, and the L.A. real estate empire she’s built. But when she finds herself trapped 300 miles north of the city, convalescing in a sleepy coastal town with her adult daughter Beth and teenage granddaughter Jack, Lana is stuck counting otters instead of square footage—and hoping that boredom won’t kill her before the cancer does.

Too long
Revisado: 12-28-23
I was really excited about this book after seeing all the good reviews about it. Unfortunately, I found the book boring and I wasn’t enthused to keep listening to it. Too long with not enough interesting plot lines.

Historia
Sasha has had it. She cannot bring herself to respond to another inane, “urgent” email or participate in the corporate employee joyfulness program. She hasn’t seen her friends in months. Sex? Seems like a lot of effort. Even cooking dinner takes far too much planning. Sasha has hit a wall. Armed with good intentions to drink kale smoothies, try yoga, and find peace, she heads to the seaside resort she loved as a child. But it’s the off season, the hotel is in a dilapidated shambles, and she has to share the beach with the only other occupant: a grumpy guy named Finn.

Nothing special
Revisado: 12-28-23
The story is relatable, but the book is too long and I lost interest. I wasn’t captivated by any of the characters and I just got bored with the plot.

Historia
Joe Goldberg is ready for a change. Instead of selling books, he’s writing them. And he’s off to a good start. Glenn Shoddy, an acclaimed literary author, recognizes Joe’s genius and invites him to join a tight-knit writing fellowship at Harvard. Finally, Joe will be in a place where talent matters more than pedigree . . . where intellect is the great equalizer and anything is possible. Even happy endings. Or so he thinks, until he meets his already-published, already-distinguished peers, who all seem to be cut from the same elitist cloth.

Boring and Too Long
Revisado: 06-03-23
This book is incredibly boring, I couldn’t get into the story at all, there was a weak plot line. It could have easily been 100 pages shorter, it just kept dragging on. This is my least favorite of the series.
