Historia
Most of the world remembers Crazy Horse as a peerless warrior who brought the U.S. Army to its knees at the Battle of Little Bighorn. But to his fellow Lakota Indians, he was a dutiful son and humble fighting man who, with valor, spirit, respect, and unparalleled leadership, fought for his people's land, livelihood, and honor. In this fascinating biography, Joseph Marshall, himself a Lakota Indian, creates a vibrant portrait of the man, his times, and his legacy.

interesting imagining of events
Revisado: 01-28-25
overall the book isn't bad but the author re tells the same few stories about 3 times each. I had to double check to make sure my app didn't malfunction because the same story is told again a few chapters before. there is also some hypocritical view points between the acts of indians vs whites, it's good for the Indians to do it but when the whites do it all the sudden its bad.

Historia
This riveting story takes place during the Battle of the Hundred in the Hand, otherwise known as the Fetterman Massacre of 1866. The story is told alternately through the eyes of Cloud, a dedicated Lakota warrior who fights alongside a young Crazy Horse, and Max Hornsby, a white pioneer who mistakes Cloud's redheaded wife for a captive.

pretty racist
Revisado: 10-31-22
this book really shows the racism that indians feel towards white people. it's no surprise though, I'm part Indian myself and have experienced the racism as I mostly look white. the author really highlights that the indians really did enjoy ambushing and killing innocent people, not just whites but other peaceful indians

Historia
On the killing ground that was the island of Guadalcanal, a 2,000-yard-long ridge rose from the jungle canopy. Behind it lay the all-important air base of Henderson Field. And if Henderson Field fell, it would mean the almost certain death or capture of all 12,500 marines on the island. But the marines positioned on the ridge were no normal fighters - they were the hard-fighting men of Edson's Raiders, an elite fighting unit within an already elite Marine Corps.

Historia
The celebrated 2010 HBO miniseries The Pacific, winner of eight Emmy Awards, was based on two classic books about the War in the Pacific, Helmet for My Pillow and With The Old Breed. Audible Studios, in partnership with Playtone, the production company co-owned by Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman, and creator of the award-winning HBO series Band of Brothers, John Adams, and The Pacific, as well as the HBO movie Game Change, has created new recordings of these memoirs, narrated by the stars of the miniseries.

not a combat story
Revisado: 08-16-22
leckie was apparently a poet. this is not a telling of what the Marines went through in the Pacific, more of a story about a rich kid that seemed more interested in getting drunk and causing trouble all the whole whining about how everyone was out to get him. With the old breed is a much better book.

HOT GARBAGE
Revisado: 07-07-22
The worst book yet! depressing, disgusting, and a massive waste of time. this author needs to just stop and start a different career. The characters are worthless and pathetic and the monsters are far superior in every way so that the humans are just sheep to slaughter. the underdog always loses in this series. GARBAGE

THIS SERIES SUCKS. WORTHLESS CHARACTERS
Revisado: 07-06-22
one of the worst series I've listened to. the humans never catch a break and cannot make good choices. they never get a win. it's incredibly depressing and the humans are written as worthless meat bags that are powerless to fight the "variants". I don't understand how this author has such highly rated books because his characters are terrible. I imagine the end of this series is just all the humans are eaten and the monsters win. SUCKS

poor writing worthless series
Revisado: 05-12-22
pass on these books. one of the shittiest authors currently published. Mark Tufo takes what could be a cool story line and stretches it beyond the limits of entertaining. His characters make the STUPIDEST decisions and makes an overall annoying experience.
p.s. the narrator needs to find a different line of work. he doesn't do well until book 6

December 1944: Deep in the Ardennes forest, a platoon of 18 men under the command of 20-year-old lieutenant Lyle Bouck huddle in their foxholes. Under attack and vastly outnumbered, they repulse three German assaults in a fierce day-long battle, killing more than 500 Germans. Only when Bouck's men run out of ammunition do they surrender. As POWs, Bouck's platoon experience an ordeal far worse than combat: trigger-happy German guards, Allied bombing raids, and a daily ration of thin soup. Somehow, the men of Bouck's platoon all miraculously survive.

Not worth it. Nazi sympathizer author
Revisado: 04-11-22
the book overall is not too bad. it covers first hand accounts of the American troops involved. there is a shallow theme of the author sympathizing with the Nazis involved throughout almost like he felt bad for them even a happy tone that so many murderous Nazi officers survived the war and got away with their crimes.

Historia
Five months after being deployed to Iraq, Lima Company's 1st Platoon became one of the first American forces to enter Fallujah, where they encountered some of the most intense hand-to-hand combat since World War II. Civilians were used as human shields or as bait to lure soldiers into buildings rigged with explosives; suicide bombers approached from every corner hoping to die and take Americans with them; radical insurgents, high on adrenaline, fought to the death.
