Historia
Eve Hatch lives for surprises! Just kidding. She expects every tomorrow to be pretty much the same as today. She loves her cozy apartment in Brooklyn that’s close to her childhood best friend Willa, and far from her midwestern, traditional family who has never really understood her. While her job is only dream-adjacent, it’s comfortable and steady. She always knows what to expect from her life . . . until she finds herself expecting after an uncharacteristic one-night stand.

I love all of Caras books but…
Revisado: 06-12-24
I love all of Cara’s books but this narrator (that I’ve never heard) is simply amazing, she brings the words to life. I definitely have to find more books read by her. This book is perfect if you’ve ever felt the stress of having a baby, from finding out to watching that tiny human enter the world. She did an amazing job of taping into every parents fears and joys.

It's nearly Christmas, Julia Devine's favourite time of the year. She's just programmed a wonderful lead into the holidays at Sunny Street Cinema, which leaves her plenty of time to worry about going home to Cumbria for Christmas. Her mum and stepdad are fine, but the thought of spending another holiday with her awful stepsister Becca is enough to make a Scrooge out of anyone. When Becca calls to let her know about the dreamy pilot she's bringing to Christmas lunch, Julia finally snaps and does something very silly.

I love love.
Revisado: 01-10-24
I love and hate books like this, hate because when you read a book like this that is far too short and then it ends you keep turning it over and looking for more pages that just aren’t there. Like a good film that you just do want to end or as this book “love isn’t like in the movies, it’s more complex and has twists and turns.”

If you’re a Rush fan and just want to reflect on the tragedy that befell our favorite drummer, just listen to the first part when he’s actually on the road and then listen to the last 45 min and you will get what you came for. The letters to Brutus are so long and annoying and will actually make you sad that you ever looked up to this man, so do yourself a favor and don’t destroy hero. Now if you’re not a fan and found yourself here because you saw the title or a friend referred it to you because you want a book about a shattered life and finding a way back from the brink of destruction, well you won’t find that here. Instead try Cheryl Stayed’s book “Wild” it has everything that you are looking for. An epic journey across beautiful vistas and great personal struggles overcome by perseverance and strength.
I was actually happy when this book ended because I was free and would never have to hear about Neal’s “little baby soul” again or a rich guy whining about a fat disgusting fan recognizing him. Please do yourself a favor and pass on this is you want to stay a fan.

Long time mega fan.
Revisado: 12-09-23
I’ve been a huge fan of Rush since Moving Pictures having seen them a hundred times. This book was so enlightening because it explains backstage what I was feeling in the crowd and from afar. From the album’s that I loved “Power Windows” and “Hold your Fire” through the 90’s and why their style had to change so much “Because Alex didn’t want keyboards” to the unlistenable last two albums. This book while making me dislike the band just a little really made me miss Neal so much more. Losing a mentor is always a painful experience but gaining a little insight into why he meant so much to me is gift that I can never repay Geddy for writing this book. At the end of the book “Anthem” the protagonist has his giant library and his “Golden One” surrounded by his friends, this is where I’ll always picture Neal. Go along old friend and enjoy your time with your wife and daughter…

I’ve been waiting for Fiona.
Revisado: 06-06-23
Having read all of this series, of all of the women Fiona was the one I was most looking forward to. She is such a bad-ass and as the book started I thought that I could foresee what was going to happen, a handsome helpful neighbor moves in next door and then her husband is introduced and he’s the biggest jerk. So any logical romance reader would come to the same conclusion. Then as the book moves along the husband becomes even more of a jerk, so much so that I can never see what she ever saw in him. But this amazing woman keeps backing down and forgiving him. After the fourth or fifth time that he lies to her and back stabs her I was thinking “ok here is where her inner bad ass comes out and she leaves him!” But then I just came to the conclusion that this is the modern world that we’ve crafted where amazing women pick pretty boy A-holes and keep forgiving them of their horrible behaviors, all the while the nice guy is next door wishing that he had a girl as amazing as Fiona.

This really should be marked as a Christian literature book.
Revisado: 04-28-22
This is a cute little story with a lot of coincidences (too many) thrown in.
The main problem is that it should be marked as a Christian literature book because by the time the story hooks you it’s too late. If you’re a believer in “god will provide” even if you make terrible choices or that you can destroy others lives with your choices and after decades just take the lord into your heart and all is forgiven then this book is for you. But if you’re tolerance for “praying” in a story is low (every page someone is praying) then this may not be the book for you.

Two years ago, Olivia Martindale left behind her Montana hometown and her husband, Jace, certain it was the best decision for both of them. Back temporarily to protect her almost-adopted daughters from their biological mother, she discovers an old, handwritten cookbook in the attic. Its pages are stained and torn, their edges scorched by flame. Some have been smeared by water or tears. The recipes are written in different hands and in different languages.

Suddenly, Angie and Jack are filling their summer with stolen moments and romantic nights.
