What did you like best about Hey, America, Your Roots Are Showing? What did you like least?

I liked when the author would explain the research process; how community is formed, and resources shared.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The least interesting were things about the Obama family, a lot of time was spent going over Michelle's roots.

What about Gwen Hughes’s performance did you like?

She brings exactly the type of tone you want for this narration. She uses punctuation well top set up pacing and articulates very cleanly.

The tone is orated in such a gentle setting that it is fine for playing in the background or given full attention.

Did Hey, America, Your Roots Are Showing inspire you to do anything?

It should inspire people to get started on reaching out to their relatives and finding out their past.

Would you try another book from Gloria Gaynor and Sue Carswell and/or Gloria Gaynor?

Gloria still has to tell her story, the writing here is emotional and would make for another good read written by either of them

What does Gloria Gaynor bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The audiobook includes other Gloria Gaynor songs after a series of stories that relate to it, although the book is about her hit "I WIll Survive" there are moments were others are relevant.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No, not all stories were as easy to connect with and by the end the experience was exhaustive

What would have made The Halloween Tree better?

The narrator is often inaudible when whispering and using far way, faintly heard voices. Being able to hear what is going on would really help.

Would you be willing to try another book from Ray Bradbury? Why or why not?

Of course, it was only after I was finished I saw other books he's written, Fahrenheit 451 is on my list.

How could the performance have been better?

The childish voices attempted were very annoying and squeaky, again making it hard to understand what was going on. While reading normal text the narrator is fine, but characters do not sound well at all.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment, only after seeing who Ray Bradbury was and watching the cartoon after.

Any additional comments?

I think this is much better to be consumed by reading, or at least skip this narration.

What did you like best about 30 Days to Love? What did you like least?

I liked the points it brought up on gauging peoples reactions. How to use compliments to survey attention and activity while following up with the proper reinforcement.

Which scene was your favorite?

Lesson given early on, the rest centered on romantic advice for prudish couples.

Did 30 Days to Love inspire you to do anything?

It changed the way I respond to peoples reactions.

Would you listen to The Power of Negative Thinking again? Why?

I think so. The beginning portion is quick with getting at the lesson while being inspirational.

While it does take on more of a biography than a self-help book the stories were somewhat familiar and had a lot to teach.

Other bits of humor and personal ideals were funny as well to consume.

Most importantly the narrator was great sounding like a real demanding but close father like character.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Bob Knight, his personality makes it enjoyable to listen to what he wants to teach you.

Where does Sitting Ducks rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is one of the best narrations I have listened to. The quality is great but what is most memorable is how endearing the storyteller sounds.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Sitting Ducks?

It sounds like a war story told by grandparents

Which scene was your favorite?

Suspenseful moments underneath enemy lines

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The entire process that brought about the event, unwillingness to stop what was begun, and how poorly it was managed, and hopeless the recruits were left yet the creators felt totally indifferent to their plight.

Rush Limbaugh's Vacation to Washington D.C.

Would you listen to Rush Revere and the Star-Spangled Banner again? Why?

No, I feel like I have experienced this adventure. It was a fun journey, but more time is spent in modern day than other books in the series.

Have you listened to any of Rush Limbaugh’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Rush Limbaugh's script reading sounds different than his normal speech on the radio. Over the series he has improved his flow. He now sounds a lot more familiar to his natural tone, and has found a new voice for Liberty (his talking horse)

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Historical accuracy began to confuse me only because of how all over the place the settings are. Unlike previous adventures we do not explore each event chronologically in history. This impulse driven narrative and my lack of attention forced me to rewind at points from pure confusion not of what was going on but how we got there.Still the same appreciation is felt for the deep sacrifices and determination by truly exceptional Americans at testing times- like with the Pilgrims.

Any additional comments?

Previously I admired the Rush Revere series for exploring uncommon parts of American history. I was excited for the War of 1812 to get the Rush Revere treatment but unfortunately I do not feel it did justice to the exceptional era. We spent more time in modern day than the past and less time in that period than other historical events explored in the book.
