Great departure from what we are used to ...
Revisado: 09-11-23
44 years of reading Stephen King and I'm actually returning this book 4 hours and 5 minutes in ...
I'm convinced Stephen was wearing a dual HEPA filter full face respirator, special attachment inside the shield with his glasses as he banged away on his MacBook. When moments of Anti-vaxers and Covid deniers lapse story wise, he is throwing darts at the life size cardboard Trump cut out. Stephen, being convinced he has actually done damage to the orange man he returns to this story. It was just too much. The actress who read this is a great performer, she's very talented. Justine Lupe just isn't who we have heard when have been listening to the last novels. Hands down for me, Will Patton captured the quirky nature of Holly.
I'll patiently await your next tale Stephen. Please leave the politics to a minimum next time.

Historia
This is the book that dares to show us the military hardware, global upheavals, and raw combat a second Korean War would unleash. How F-16s would blast across the 38th Parallel. How ultra-modern submarines would vie for the seas. And how two armies would turn the snowfields of Asia red with blood. A thundering geopolitical thriller of vast scope, this is Red Phoenix - and a new standard for military/political suspense fiction.

A tale that’s aged well …
Revisado: 12-03-21
I didn’t realize when I downloaded this that it was an action/military story that was written and published in 1990. For how old it is, the story has aged well and I enjoyed it. Well worth your time for a listen.

Historia
Stranded in the Amazon rainforest, a lost man fights for survival and discovers that the root of evil doesn’t just reside in the world’s darkest corners, but inside the hearts of all mankind. Dr. Gregory Zekser is on a mission to visit the furthest reaches of the Amazon, providing medical aid to recently contacted tribes. As a general practitioner and food pantry director, his life in Massachusetts can be chaotic, but serving people is what he does best, and he doesn’t mind sacrificing his personal life to help others, at home or halfway around the world.

Historia
Evan Michaels struggles with being different, with having the complete memories of two other people who lived sequentially before him. He fights loneliness and believes he is unique until he meets Poppy. She recognizes his struggle because she is like him, except that she is much older, remembering seven consecutive lives. But there is something else she must share with Evan - she is a member of the secretive Cognomina. They are, in effect, immortals - compiling experiences and skills over lifetimes into near superhuman abilities that they have used to drive history over centuries.

Great Story …
Revisado: 06-02-21
Great story with an uncharacteristically (compared to the rest of the tale) abrupt ending. I would imagine we’ll hear more stories from this character in the future. Certainly worth the listen.

Disturbing. Horrifying. You need to listen to this.
Revisado: 05-11-21
Grab a couple bottles of water and sit yourself down,
Typically, I listen to audio books to have the freedom of multi-tasking. This one … Focus. Connect with the characters. Truly let this story sink in. Day of Wrath is a well written story you don’t want to gloss over. This is the only book in over 800+ audible listens that had a chilling effect and got me emotional.

Historia
He invented a machine to take people to the future. Then he was accused of murder, but he can't remember killing anyone. Billionaire genius Byron Gaines is accused of murdering his wife and her lover, but he swears he didn't do it. This couldn't have come at a worse moment: He is so close to a breakthrough in his research. He's about to invent a device that will change the world forever. The irony is, if only he had a little more time, he'd be able to make his legal problems disappear - along with himself.

Historia
Billy Todd has always been different. Most people called him odd, and those were the nice people. Though he was born with a learning disability, Billy's parents never allowed him to consider himself disabled. Raised to be self-sufficient, Billy might not be as smart as some, but he was a lot smarter than people realized.

Well written! Christopher Lane did an outstanding job acting out the tale!
Revisado: 01-25-20
N.C. Reed did an great job weaving this tale together. The main characters growth and layers of supporting folks was just right. Christopher Lane was the perfect voice to deliver this story. Hearing his interpretations of each person’s personality was a joy. There’s a relaxing nature and believability to the way he acts out a story. Highly recommend this story to anyone.
