Historia
In After Anatevka, Alexandra Silber picks up where Fiddler on the Roof left off. Second-eldest daughter Hodel takes center stage as she attempts to join her socialist-leaning fiancé Perchik at the outer reaches of a Siberian work camp. But before Hodel and Perchik can finally be together, they both face extraordinary hurdles and adversaries - both personal and political - attempting to keep them apart at all costs.

Brilliant writing, exquisite performance.
Revisado: 12-04-24
Alexandra Silber is a writer of extraordinary talent and searing intelligence. What she has imagined from what must have been exhaustive research is an uncompromising, wrenching, and devastatingly courageous account of what it must have been like in a time and place in history too often ignored. After Anatevka is a worthy descendant of the Sholom Aleichem stories that inspired them, written the majesty of a voice of startling authenticity and originality. And Silber’s performance of her own work is exquisite and indelible, as unusual for an author as it is exceptional even for an actress of great stature, which Silber also unquestionably is.
