Historia
In The Social Organism, Luckett and Casey offer a revolutionary theory: social networks - to an astonishing degree - mimic the rules and functions of biological life. In sharing and replicating packets of information known as memes, the world's social media users are facilitating an evolutionary process just like the transfer of genetic information in living things. Memes are the basic building blocks of our culture, our social DNA. To master social media - and to make online content that impacts the world - you must start with the Social Organism.

Great read if looking to gain further insight into social media from a liberal sociopolitical perspective
Revisado: 02-27-17
Let me first start off by saying I am extremely liberal and hail from an uber conservative evangelist family. Context in mind, I can fully see how someone not sharing my particular viewpoint and the viewpoint of the author's, could be so turned off by the content that they find it unreadable.
I loved the author's insights and his correlation of his scientific/biology background to social media but also felt that it seemed a little too agenda-y.
I mean, I work in the marketing/PR/content development industries and some aspects made me cringe a bit at how the author really just seemed to be pushing some agenda more so than creating useful and insightful content.
Don't get me wrong--it was very insightful, and I found much of what was heard very useful for the purpose of storing in my metacognitive database on the subject -- but I would liken the experience to that of being wined and dined by [insert philosophical icon crush] only to come out on the bad end of a walk of shame after a one night stand to find that they were nothing more than a narcissistic corporate mouth-piece only interested in harnessing your attention to further their own self-promotion.

Insufferably Long-Winded and Repetitive
Revisado: 02-20-17
This book is useful in the event that you have yet to be diagnosed, or are dealing with an individual/child with ADHD for first time. If this is all brand new to you-- its a great starter.
Otherwise-- you're going to find it a waste of time. The book just reiterates commonly known information over and over again and the bulk of the content seemed to just be patient testimonials.
Not really my cup of tea. I'm requesting my credit back.

Historia
Stephen R. Covey's book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, has been a top seller for the simple reason that it ignores trends and pop psychology for proven principles of fairness, integrity, honesty, and human dignity. Celebrating its 15th year of helping people solve personal and professional problems, this special anniversary edition includes a new foreword and afterword written by Covey that explore whether the 7 Habits are still relevant and answer some of the most common questions he has received over the past 15 years.

Loved it. And I am not the "reviewing type"
Revisado: 02-20-17
I am an artist who struggles with adult ADHD needless to say it is extremely difficult for anything to keep my attention for a prolonged period of time. This book did it.
If you are into self-help and motivational books that are less "auditorium motivational speaker puff pieces" and rooted in science, experience and provide solid methodologies and strategies to empowering yourself on a daily basis then I would definitely recommend it.
I absolutely loved it and the passages regarding interdependence really struck a chord with me.

Historia
I almost didn't publish Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends on It. I was terrified. Here I was, a CEO who'd fallen apart after his company failed, writing a book about how loving himself saved him. I thought I'd be a laughing stock and my career would be finished. But I stepped through the fears and shared my truth with the world. What happened next changed my life. The book went viral. Amazing people all over shared it online and on social media. They bought copies for friends and family. They wrote heartfelt reviews. For some, this book literally saved their lives.

Meh.
Revisado: 02-20-17
I guess I was just hoping for more substance and less puff. It just didn't really do it for me. The entire time I was listening I couldn't help but feel like all of the high reviews were nothing more than paid contributors (I work in the writing industry so trust me -- it happens all the time).
I felt like this would've been a good book to listen to had I had a personal relationship with the author and been told "Oh hey-- our buddy [insert name] just released an Ebook!".
The writing is a bit erratic. It feels like the author was out drinking with his buddies one weekend and was like "dude I should totally write an e-book" on a whim. It offered absolutely no more added insight than anybody would already have regarding the cliché "love yourself" adage.
My advice would be to spend your credits/money elsewhere.
