Too long
Revisado: 06-12-24
This book should have been two hours shorter. To much repetive, descriptive dialog. The basis of the story was good, and I wanted to finish it, however it just droned on and on

Historia
At home they are just sisters, but on stage, they are The Salvations. Ruth, Esther, and Chloe have been singing and dancing in harmony since they could speak. Thanks to the rigorous direction of their mother, Vivian, they’ve become a bona fide girl group whose shows are the talk of the Jazz-era Fillmore.

Excellent however sometimes hard to follow the various characters in each of the sub stories. Also the language used in one was hard to take. The narration was excellent
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the book

Historia
The Washington Post said, "Nobody does smart, gutsy, funny, sexy women better than Susan Isaacs". Add to that praise the adjective "strong", and you've got Susan's latest protagonist, Marianne Kent. Her life may not seem thrilling - living with her widowed mother, majoring in economics, working in an elegant dress store after classes to put away money for graduate school - but she's determined to make a better life for herself and her mom.

Just about the most ridiculous storyline ever. I can't imagine a full series of this. this was more of a bad radio show than an audio book in the standard sense.

Give this a pass
Revisado: 05-07-20
Very disappointing. The story was without imagination - very easy to predict what was going to occur chapters ahead. The narration was horrible, all characters essentially had the same time and voice (whether make or female).
