the writing in this story is absolutely amazing. This author absolutely knows how to write, and this book is one of the best I've ever read. sometimes it's easy to forget that writing is an art, and this Author gave me a fresh reminder with each word. also, the VA for this book is 10/10 amazing!!! I can't wait to read the next one.

very rushed

the story was fine, but the content really disappointed me. I was really ready to get more context to Arlo in her state as ruin. instead we don't really get much. not to mention skipping over an entire war scene? why? there was soooo much potential for this story and it all just felt so...flat. when i read the first book, I fell in love with it. this last book just has me really disappointed. I really feel like the story deserves better.

Ashley Shuttleworth just GETS it

this book series as me in a chokehold. I love it so so much. it's the fact that she does not hold back on representing the lgbtq community. This book series is so inspiring, and it is like a mix of every show and book that wasn't queer enough. it's like this book series genuinely makes up for not having that representation in anything growing up. 10/10 I will be re-reading these books over and over again for years.

99% inner dialog

I mean don't get me wrong, the concept and story behind this book is incredibly amazing. but I had such a hard time getting past the inner dialog and I spent a lot of this book trying to figure out what was going on outside of the characters heads. a lot of the writing is absolutely beautiful, but I just couldn't get past characters whos personalities were kind of set in stone in a way. like the second main character in this book is 100% brawn with no brain and its a little ridiculous. there are some corny parts too. I personally wouldn't read it again. if it weren't 99% inner dialog it'd be 5 stars all around

wonderful idea and world, but poor execution

I was really happy to finally read a book with a nonbinary main, and the way they wrote them was really good! but the overall performance of the story seemed like it needed some editing. the writing style is really technical and some of the things that are written could just be left to interpretation. it felt robotic at times but also there are a few lines in this book that are written beautifully. it did get a little corny there at the end and I found the main characters love interest and the way its handled by their sister to be a bit of a stretch, but nonetheless the universe behind this story is amazing and I would love to see these concepts more in literature. idk maybe it'd be better if it wasn't an audiobook

the writing is awful, 99% dialog thats needless, and the plot doesn't make sense. I couldn't finish it, I tried really hard. sounded like a good idea but its kind of just smut.
