I just didn't feel attached to the characters- was not very much invested in them. It was high steam- and the steamy parts were too many, in a way that felt cliche' (like- they are doing it again?!).
The writing is beautiful but the plot was just poor, I didn't feel like Caleb had a substance issues, it was said but didn't feel real in the plot.

Narrated to perfection, full of emotion, great accent work to distinguish each character.
I had not listened to a book narrated by this narrator before bou I would look him up right now because he made the story 100 better.
The plot is wonderfull, the story funny and emotional, poignant even. Loved to see characters from book #1 again, enjoyed the steam and romance with the absolute perfection that is KJ Charles's writing and wit.

The narration, like all the books in the series, is fantastic! Matthew is an artist, infusing emotion effortlessly in every word. I love how he leans into the story, singing and howling with the characters.
Howl at the Moon was one of the first Eli Easton books I read. It is still one of my favorite series by her, and at my top 3 shifter books ever.
The concept is just so unique! And this new book, that continues the journey in a new setting, did not disappoint.
Cupun and Taq share a connection that is primal, but also incredibly sweet and inevitable. I loved how they sort of fell into the love that was just always there.
The expansion of the shifter world Easton built, the connection to Inuit colture and heritage was well written and researched. It also made sense, making the first 5 books seem better now that we have that connection to the beginning of the magic that allowed the first dog to change.
I enjoyed the second half of the story the most, it was action packed and interesting, and the satisfying conclusion to the story. Leaving just enough tease for the next book, it was a delightful read with characters from previous books appearing here and there.

Waiting for the next one!

Listened to the audiobook and loved it. Joel does an amazing performance, distinct characters difined by his narration.
I must admid, I didn't enjoy the first series, this is a spin off from it, and only read the first book.
This one I enjoyed a lot, I was really swept into the story and could not put it down.
The characters are interesting, the plot twists and has just the right amount of suspence and mystery to keep you engaged but not to the point of anxiety.
It had just the rigtht amount of romance and heat too, not overpowering the story.

The narration was good, it seemd like the narrator grew into the stories and characters as the series progressed.
I loved this book on so many levels! It was the best in the series in my opinion, the steam was AMAZING and Avery is so adorable.
I enjoyed reading a story about a character with a disability where it was not the main issue in the story. You see how it affects Avery's life, but it's not about him learning to deal with it or getting used to his body post accident.
You feel how stuck he is, how much he holds himself back, and the way he evolved throughout the story was remarkable. The addition of kink was just the icing on the cake (and it was DELICIOUS!). Not to mention the chemistry between Avery and Malik was electric, I could totally read a 400 page novel of just them getting it on.
I loved how they both became intertwined in each other, as co-workers, friends, partners. How Malik new what Avery needed, and how Avery became brave to take what he wants.

We also got a cameo from another book, my absolute FAVORITE Annabeth couple, and it was EVERYTHING!

I liked this book even better then book #1
It might be because Ezra and Duncan have a history together (and in book #1 they do not) so I felt like the connection was more established to begine with.
Or maybe because there is no GFY/OFY so they can get it on fast and it feels more natural for me.
I really enjoyed how the author wove their personalities together, made them similar in some aspects and complementary on others. They have a very balanced relationship, HOT chemistry and you can really feel the magical attraction Duncan has for Ezra as a singer.
The narration was good, I still like other narrator for this author, not sure why exactly. I think maybe they get more emotional range from the story, but Kirt does an amazing job as usual.

Looking for the next book!

Curtis is a chainsaw woodcarver, a recluse artist who is still mourning the death of his long time partner. Logan is the young chef in the bar and grill he and his two friends are trying to turn into a local and touristic hot spot. Both men have been denying themselves the things they crave most, and they will find it in each other, whether they like or not.

The narration was good, I have some issues with one narrator but ONLY for when isn't reading character dialog. he actually has a great emotional range, but some stiffness when he reads the descriptions.

This book twisted me in the best of ways! Annabeth is a master story teller and this one was, like all her other books, a masterpiece. Rainbow Cove is a place I want to visit, because Annabeth has made me see, smell and feel it throughout reading this book.
Like all her characters, Logan and Curtis are unique, specific individuals in their likes, dislikes and life style, this makes them that much more tangible and life like. I love that level of detail in Annabeth's books, and that is especially evident in the kink aspect of the book. First of all, do not expect it to be a regular Dom/Sub dynamic, like Annabeth does best, she gave it her own twist. Second, the scenes are scorching HOT, well researched and described in a believable balanced way that is so touching to read. It's respectful, responsible and not "50 shades-ish" at all! Kink and BDSM is not my go to in books, but this one is nothing like what I have read so far, the level of intimacy, the connection Logan and Curtis have is incredibly written. They start out as mutual "itch-scratch solutions" but through the exploration of their sexual preferences and Curtis's total submission to Logan they become so much more.
I love how they each grow from the other's support and strength. Logan in his own self-image, making his life and body the way he would like them to be after years of letting others (family and ex-boyfriend) decide for him. Curtis is fighting to stay lonely so hard it hurts to read, and his emergence out of the dust and darkness is beautiful and emotional.

I like this book because it is like no other, it takes you on an emotional journey that will leave you raw and exposed, like Logan and Curtis are. Then, little by little new layers will grow, layers of trust, companionship and love.

I like this book a lot and I think it dealt with some pretty important topics I was happy to see in a book of This genre.
Cash is just a very lovable character; you immediately want to be taken care of by him and give him a hug. And even if he and Danny started off kind of fast, it worked well in this story for me.
This book had a very good balance between romance and action. it actually had a bit more action then I was expecting but not too overpowering where every scene there's a new something going on with the characters. It was really nice I enjoyed it a lot.
The narrator was good but I like other narrators this author used in the past and would have been happier is they had narrated this book.

Matthew Shaw is a great narrator who I enjoyed in the past with this author's books. He has a way of bringing the characters to live, almost acting out the story rather then narrating it. He is a pleasure to listen to.
I liked this book a lot, I think it combined elements from the first two books and got a very emotional redemption story.
I always enjoy a book where you get to see the other side of a previously considered "bad" character. Henry Atkins is just that, a real heart of gold guy who turned his life around for himself first and got the guy because of it. The romance is satisfying and real, steamy and not too physically focused.
Micah also has a similar vibe, stuck in a job he does not like and can't get out he finds things he likes and things to like about himself because of Henry.
I enjoyed how the entire town was a part of this story, characters from the previous 2 books having a major role in shaping the plot.
You get the feel of why Henry loves his town so much, and you kind of fall in love with it too.
