It just got better and better
Revisado: 12-09-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would definitely recommend this to a friend. This book is beautifully written, and just draws you in. At first when the story was a bit slower paced I just enjoyed the writing but as the story went on I just found it totally engrossing.
What did you like best about this story?
This would be considered a spoiler so please be warned.I loved how the story weaves time travel with history and probable paradoxes (you will understand when you read it), it just flowed so well.
What about Christopher Lane’s performance did you like?
Great performance - it did not get in the way of the story at all. Even the female voices were pleasant to listen to. To me that is the measure of a male narrator, not to sound too over the top when doing female voices.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were too many to write about without giving too much away, but there is a lot of tragedy in this story. Having said that it is balanced with the fight in the heroine, and the acceptance. She has a hard time with her life but there is enough positive going on to keep things uplifting.
Any additional comments?
This was an incredibly interesting read, with a blending of action, personal triumph, love and history. It is well worth the credit or the cost. And it is well written.

Is there anything you would change about this book?
I really enjoyed Hollywood Secrets and Hollywood Scandals, but I couldn't finish Hollywood Confessions because I could not stand the character Allie Quick. I loved Tina Bender and Cameron Dakota and cheered them on in their exploits, but with Allie, I wanted her to fall flat on her curvy butt. Allie is a good antagonist to Tina and Cam, but a whole book with her as the lead was too much.
Having written that, it was worth the credit for the first two books, I really enjoyed them.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
For me it was the unusual perspective of seeing things from the side of the paparazzi. Normally they are the villains in stories, but in these stories they are the heroes and you really want them to find the dirt on the celebrities. Mind you, there are a pair of very unlikable twin paparazzi but their awful antics and behaviour made me laugh.
The least interesting was Allie's Hollywood Confessions.
Which scene was your favorite?
Hard to pick, as there were many scenes that made me laugh out loud, which is embarrassing when listening while doing the grocery shopping. At least people got out of my way. But if I had to pick a standout it would be any scene with Tina's crazy aunties, they were hilarious.
Do you think Hollywood Headlines Anthology needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
I would definitely read any more books about Tina Bender, she is clever, funny , feisty and has a quirky scense of fashion which I liked. I get a bit tired at times about hearing how perfect and gorgeous the protagonist in novels are.
Any additional comments?
For chick lit, these books are action packed, fast paced and very funny. Definitely worth a credit.

Historia
R is a zombie. He has no name, no memories, and no pulse, but he has dreams. He is a little different from his fellow Dead. Amongst the ruins of an abandoned city, R meets a girl. Her name is Julie, and she is the opposite of everything he knows - warm and bright and very much alive, she is a blast of colour in a dreary grey landscape. For reasons he can't understand, R chooses to save Julie instead of eating her, and a tense yet strangely tender relationship begins.

Slaughter never sounded so sweet
Revisado: 11-10-13
If you could sum up Warm Bodies in three words, what would they be?
Unexpected, engaging, gruesome
What was one of the most memorable moments of Warm Bodies?
Spoiler alert* when Julie and R are talking in the house after they escaped the airport, he admitted that he was the one that killed her boyfriend and she forgave him. You see in this scene that they have a real connection that is very deep for only knowing each other for a short time. You know what they have is special.
Which character – as performed by Kevin Kenerly – was your favorite?
Definitely R, he has a very soothing and rich voice, but he can still do female voices really well.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It sure was, it was so hard to turn off when life gets in the way.
Any additional comments?
Although it is a zombie story, it really is a story of redemption. It's like life became so taken for granted and driven by greed and consumerism that it caused the soul to die. Then humanity had to learn to live again.

Historia
This is the story of Michael Talbot, his family, and his friends: a band of ordinary people trying to get by in extraordinary times. When disaster strikes, Mike, a self-proclaimed survivalist, does his best to ensure the safety and security of those he cares for. Book one of the Zombie Fallout Trilogy follows our lead character at his self-deprecating, sarcastic best. What he encounters along the way leads him down a long dark road, always skirting the edge of insanity.

Pleasantly surprised

Where does Zombie Fallout rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I have only read one other book about zombies and I found it bordering on boring, so I was a little apprehensive about using a credit on this one - but I am so glad I did! It would have to be in my top 10.
This book started with a bang and just kept going from there, it was fast paced, action packed with laugh out loud moments.
If you don't like guns and gore then this probably isn't for you, but if you do then give it a go - I'm going to get the rest of the series now.
What other book might you compare Zombie Fallout to and why?
It could be compared to Larry Correia's Monster Hunter International in terms of gun action and violence, although Monster Hunter is one of my all time favourites and has a lot more mythology in it.
What about Sean Runnette’s performance did you like?
He reminded me of Ray from "Everyone loves Raymond", but don't let that put you off because it really worked and his voices were very distinguishable and I knew straight away what character was talking.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I almost did! I listened over two days.
Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.

What a ride!!
Revisado: 10-23-12
Would you consider the audio edition of Monster Hunter International to be better than the print version?
Oliver Wyman is one of the best. When a guy with such a blokey voice can do the women characters without you wanting to laugh, you know you’re on to a good thing. And he has a huge range of recognisable characters.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I am so sick of those romantic vampire books, it's about time someone started killing them! I'm not usually an action yob, but by the end of this book I felt like joining the closest gun club - and it was all because of Owen and his fascination and gleeful obsession of guns and firepower. Plus he can take a good beating without being macho or whiney. He just takes it in his self-depreciating stride.
Which scene was your favorite?
Spoiler alert!
There were too many scenes to really have an outstanding favourite, but when Zee kicked the Cursed One butt, I was cheering him on.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
After the boat scene, I can't remember what his name was, but when they were commiserating over their fallen comrade after the battle, and the Priest gave the eulogy you could really feel the sadness and loss.
Any additional comments?
I'm buying the next in the series right now.
