Historia
Even today, almost five decades after John F. Kennedy was slain, the public continues to be captivated by the "Kennedy Curse" and new theories about what really happened on that fateful day in 1963. For nearly 50 years former Secret Service agent Clint Hill has lived with the unimaginable guilt of losing a president on his watch and has obeyed an honor code of silence, refusing to contribute to any books about the assassination. Until now.

A full-circle closing on the tragedy in Dallas
Revisado: 01-07-11
Having read many books and visited Dallas, Dealey Plaza and the School Book Depository several times over three decades, I find the information contained in The Kennedy Detail what has been missing the past forty years. What did those closest to the incident have to contribute to this global conversation that might shed light on the circumstances leading to and following Kennedy's assassination. This book does it all - and in a captivating way that it is not only a must read but a great one.

Historia
When Hackberry Holland became sheriff of a tiny Texas town near the Mexican border, he'd hoped to leave certain things behind: his checkered reputation, his haunted dreams, and his obsessive memories of the good life with his late wife, Rie. But the discovery of the bodies of nine illegal aliens, machine-gunned to death and buried in a shallow grave behind a church, soon makes it clear that he won't escape so easily.

Fantastic combo of writing and narration
Revisado: 11-20-08
This is one of the best reads/listens in a very long time ... probably since DeMille's last book. Every line engages and the narration interprets the characters and John so well that it would be hard to not think of the narrator as John himself. The best!

Historia
Outraged by the downward spiral of American intellect and culture, Michael R. LeGault offers the flip side of Malcolm Gladwell's best-selling phenomenon Blink, which celebrated impulse thinking over factual knowledge or critical analysis. If best-selling books are advising us to not think, LeGault argues, it comes as no surprise that sharp, incisive reasoning is on the decline, leading our society to incompetence and failure.

Good Start...but...
Revisado: 01-24-06
Think! had me in the first section - it was a good, solid platform that addressed Blink! head on. From there, however, section two drifted from the compelling start whereas Blink! stayed the course from beginning to end.

Historia
Haller is a Lincoln Lawyer, a criminal defense pro who operates out of the backseat of his Lincoln Town Car, to defend clients at the bottom of the legal food chain. It's no wonder that he is despised by cops, prosecutors, and even some of his own clients. But an investigator is murdered for getting too close to the truth and Haller quickly discovers that his search for innocence has taken him face to face with a kind of evil as pure as a flame.

Passing time on the 405!
Revisado: 10-29-05
The commute in LA (on many of the streets and in and around the towns used as the setting in this and other Connolly books) can be difficult and grinding. This audio book has made the commute not only tolerable but I find myself looking forward to delays on the drive so I can devour more of the story - and what a story it is. Captivated from the beginning, I think it is one of his best...with terrific narration. Enjoy!
