Historia
A soul-stirring biography of John Marshall, the young Republic's great chief justice who led the Supreme Court to power and brought law and order to the nation. In the political turmoil that convulsed America after George Washington's death, the surviving Founding Fathers went mad - literally pummeling each other in Congress and challenging one another to deadly duels in their quest for power. Out of the political intrigue, one man emerged to restore calm and dignity to the government: John Marshall.

Very Informative
Revisado: 10-31-23
Like another book from Harlow Giles Unger that I heard here, I learned a lot about the early U.S. and how our government evolved. Though I learned a lot about John Marshall, I wish I would have learned more about him - his character, his beliefs, what motivated him. Another reviewer said that the book sometimes lost Marshall in its chapters, and that is true. This book felt more like a textbook than a biography sometimes.

Historia
Have you ever walked through trial after trial questioning how much more you can endure? Have you ever doubted how in the world God would call you to something with your broken past lurking around every corner? Have you ever just doubted God? Well sis, this might be the podcast for you. The Bible tells us that the storms of life are inevitable in this lifetime. I’ll dare to say that when you jump into the deep end with Jesus, that’s actually where the waters get rough. But the storm set out to drown you is the very storm that God will use to refine, chisel, and call you. In the Chiseled ...

Made me reflect on myself
Revisado: 07-17-23
While I haven't had a situation like the one described, the story told and the attitude of the hosts was really useful for reflecting. This encouraged me to accept that even though I fail, I don't have to whip myself about it. God loves me the way that I am, and I don't have to make a big deal out of something that is a small deal to him. God bless you Mrs. Dawn and Mr. Jordan.

Fantastically done
Revisado: 04-29-23
I really enjoyed this book. I really liked the anime, but I found the book very well done. Even though there were some parts that were a little slow, the rest made up for it. I was especially impressed with Cherami Leigh's narration and vocal range. She did very well.

Historia
Twelve-year-old Michael Arroyo lives in the shadows of Yankee Stadium, home of his heroes, but a place that might as well be on a different continent since he can't afford to see the inside. He also lives in the shadows of his Bronx neighborhood, hiding from the bill collectors and the officials who would separate him from his 17-year-old brother if they knew the two boys were living on their own. Baseball is Michael's only salvation.

Very Entertaining

This was a book I had to read in school but never got to finish. It's cool to me because I am Cuban myself, and hearing a book with a Cuban main character was awesome.

Historia
Although the framers gave the president little authority, Washington knew whatever he did would set precedents for generations of his successors. To ensure their ability to defend the nation, he simply ignored the Constitution when he thought it necessary and reshaped the presidency into what James Madison called a "monarchical presidency." Modern scholars call it the "imperial presidency."

Very good
Revisado: 01-27-23
Whereas the narrator was great and the book very interesting, I feel like some parts should have been expanded a little more.
