Historia
Under the rule of a usurper king, the realm of Skala has suffered famine, plague, and invasion. But now the time for the rightful heir has come, a return to the tradition of warrior queens. And the Lightbearer's prophecy is to be upheld at last: so long as a daughter of the royal line defends and rules, Skala will never be subjugated. Now a mystical fire has burned away the male body known as Prince Tobin, revealing Princess Tamír, a girl on the verge of womanhood - and a queen ready to claim her birthright.

good ending to the trilogy
Revisado: 01-28-22
I loved this book... but I'll be honest, I don't know why Flewelling made such a rich, full world, to only use such a small part of it! there's Fae, dragons, oracles, a whole race of witches and they're all SO UNDER UTILIZED! I'm not saying they needed to take over the story, but I just feel like so much was left unexplored and I want it!
but aside from that, it really is well written and enjoyable. the narrator does an excellent job.

not my kind of horror
Revisado: 01-16-22
the story is well crafted. great narration, if occasionally a bit annoying. just not my favorite kind of horror..imo it's not so much horror, as a sad story about parents making all the wrong decisions, and ruining their kids lives. I can't deny it's very well thought out, well written, and interesting. but its just sad, not spooky.

narrator is meh, but the stories worth the time
Revisado: 12-29-21
interesting story, much like a DnD campaign. the narrator is very typical fantasy, and is awful at portraying feminine voices. after a while everything sounded like a gruff old soldier, a geriatric, or a gruff soldier trying to sound like a lady. that being said, the story is interesting, on the verge of horror in places, with an full world and fun surprises

Historia
Working at a dead-end retail job in the middle of nowhere can be hard. The long hours. The helpless customers. The enormous eldritch horror living deep below the building. As the only full-time employee at the 24 hour gas station at the edge of town, Jack has pretty much seen it all. But when he decides to start an online journal documenting the bizarre day-to-day occurrences, he unwittingly attracts the attention of much more than just a few conspiracy theorists.
