Historia
The EMP has officially crippled the nation and her infrastructure sits in ruin. Can a burned-out DEA agent, a Guatemalan-born cartel daughter, and an estranged brother find their way back to their families, or will they succumb to the perils of a nation in steep decline? The Complete Age of Embers is a no-holds-barred post-apocalyptic adventure series chronicling a nationwide descent into a powerless world.

Lost upstream without a paddle
Revisado: 02-15-24
It was a roller coaster of a series. It had a truly interesting start, a plot that was quickly laid out and acted upon. The first book introduced a potential storyline, twists, turns, and possibilities which the rest of the series didn’t act upon.
It’s possible the author just changed his mind as he was writing. As each book was released it seemed his writing was heavily influenced by critiques.
The end result is a disjoined series of side plots which culminates in the most derivative, cliche, and uninspiring end which makes the reader realize the entire series could have been an email.

Historia
Three years have passed since the Jamaicans caused the apocalypse, and things in post-Armageddon Chicago have settled into a new kind of normal. Unfortunately, that "normal" includes collapsing skyscrapers, bands of bloodthirsty maniacs, and a dwindling cache of survival supplies. After watching his family, friends, and most of the non-sadistic elements of society crumble around him, Patrick decides it's time to cross one last item off his bucket list. He's going to Disney World.

It’s fine.

It reads like a fan fiction written by a high schooler who didn’t have much experience writing a story with an expansive world where actions have consequences.
The entire book could have been reduced to four or five chapters, the first few and the final few. Overall, the premise is laid out, the adventure is set, the heroes have an interaction with the only people they will ever interact with again, and everything else in between is as engaging as it is funny.
Honestly, my biggest issue with the main characters is that they are both so astronomically idiotic that you’d think they would either learn from their mistakes or just die in this world.
