Very calming and sweet

My little one and I enjoyed this bedtime story. The narration was very peaceful and the story well done with a rhythmic, lyrical edge. The story takes the reader on a close out of the day and into a nice peaceful bedtime flow. It was a quick but satisfying story.

Historia
Steven is a writer, by all accounts of self-proclamation. But no artist can be expected to work under serious pressure, especially not when the pressure consists of his own mother indenting his tender skull with the muzzle of the pistol held in her hand. Suddenly, it's write or die for Steven. He better tap away on that typewriter or expect to be extracted from the land of the living before he's had the opportunity to finish anything he's ever written. Not to mention that his recently departed father lying on the floor beside him should supply enough motivation.

Surprise ending with a tasty twist

Unexpected twist
Revisado: 08-27-20
Well that story was more than a bit unexpected! At first I found it a bit dark and disturbing. But the thing about Justine Avery stories is that they tend to be short and if you stick with them, they tend to reveal something ‘more’. In this case there was a very unexpected twist and I. Her typical fashion it was full of dark humor. Overall a solid read. Narration was very good

Historia
Today is a day like any other on Earth. People wake and work. Minds plug into electronic devices. Social networks spark with spontaneous brain sputterings. And news anchors across the globe offer an ounce of vital information for every pound of mind-numbing nonsense.... Then, the figurative bomb hits. Screens are ablaze, and radio is abuzz with a news flash like no other: Earth has been inherited. The planet has a new owner. And he's not happy to find his endowment overrun by a planetary pestilence.

Unique and creative
Revisado: 08-26-20
This certainly isn’t a storyline my brain could have come up with but it was an enjoyable and clever tale. While it wasn’t overtly funny, the cleverness and creativity in the writing was so well crafted throughout, that I found it strikingly entertaining. This was so imaginative, that my brain is still trying to wrap itself around the idea, the originality, of the work. Very well done

Informative, helpful
Revisado: 07-04-20
What a helpful, compassionate book that offers 15 simple steps on how to control, organize and tackle a hoarding situation that may be happening. Sometimes the hardest thing to do - is just knowing where to start and how to get organized. Once you dig in and get overwhelmed, game over. So this book gives you steps and tools to work through. I appreciated the mental insight into the causes of hoarding too.

Emily really can't complain. She's married to a wonderful man, her high school sweetheart, who still dotes on her as he did when he first laid eyes on her. They have a beautiful home together, and they each enjoy successful careers. On the outside looking in, Emily has what any woman would be perfectly happy with. But it's just not enough. Emily can't help wishing for just a bit more - for that special spark, for that thrill of something new and surprising, for the shivery tingles running down her spine. For real passion - for true romance.

A great reminder
Revisado: 07-03-20
Justine Avery did a great job of narrating us through the character’s feelings of an all to relatable relationship phase. I appreciate Justine’s range as an author from children’s books to adult books, she has something for everyone. This one spoke to my happily married heart. I recommend this for a nice reminder of what love is and the path it sometimes travels

Historia
Bradley Michaels is just another man ending just another workday at just another job. He can list the usual complaints, can point his finger at the usual causes, and he can go about his routine as if one day is absolutely no different from the next. Until God himself just shows up uninvited and shakes up Bradley's entire existence by flaunting his own. It's not fair, but Bradley never claimed life is. And he tries to handle the new, omniscient presence in his head with calm attention and cool collectedness.

I had a hard time with this story at first but I persevered and am glad that I did. The message is overwhelmingly positive. Live your life and believe what you want and need to believe. Regardless of what others think. Inspiring.
