they were too slow to catch clues
Revisado: 08-23-24
Bree seemed as she did all the heavy lifting in this book. Mercy gets most of the praise. The ending was a bit over the top. I prefer Bree , Matt , Dana, kids and the sheriff staff.

fact check, stereotypes , YA
Revisado: 04-04-24
Story could be a YA except for excessive language, gory content.
Enjoyed
Baxter, Trueheart, detectives
Deputy Banner good character
Eve interviews were better
Annoying
Edit, check and recheck
Continuity, left, right, hand leg
Names for victims were not always correct, and incorrect crime
Incorrect serial killers names
Ridiculous to have the time zone bit in most books. Easy to ask computer like everything else.
Wrong not to share her coffee with her bull pen if she shares with just partner
Peabodys character acts like a teenager.
Peabody & Mcnab not respectful when at Dallas & Roarkes house.
Futuristic items not consistent in beginning books and later.
if you plan on changing stuff quot using disk and poor quality cameras, and needing physical link to get info.
....
Guess my Annoying points could be the same for the latest books. Need more quality checking.

Historia
Jenna McGovern is dressed to kill for Blueberry Lake's annual firefighter charity auction. But when she finds her attractive fireman neighbor Matt Bridges standing over the body of a local hairstylist - and his ex-girlfriend - it's not exactly the romantic ambiance Jenna had in mind. While the handsome chief of police Cooper Dear sets out to investigate Matt, Jenna finds herself sucked into another murder case in which an innocent man seems to have been framed. Cooper isn't especially thrilled when Jenna takes Matt's side.

teen book, poor main characters
Revisado: 02-03-23
Struggled to finish. The main character is just a twit. Broke, but doesn't want to put in hours at her moms store. continues to spend dollars on beauty, shoes, and clothes. Mooches, food daily from Matt Jenna wants to purchase a car with 300, then accepts money from Cooper , but barely knows him. She's in her late 20s , and even a teenager knows there are additional expenses.
Didn't like Cooper much. Used his position to be overbearing and knoch down Matt
Cooper didn't even find the phone from the corpse. Would be better if Matt had actually investigated the murder.
Continue to talk as if she didn't know Matt. would think she would know some of his character from talking to her grandmother.
it's a small town as well.
Hate love triangles. cookie cutter series I liked the Luzzi series, but the Rosetti series (better than this) bit live triangle grew old. main character immature.

Historia
No promises. No expectations. No names. That’s what Emmett Stone agreed to with the woman who caught his eye two months ago. After years of drama following the end of his motorcycle club, a no-strings fling with a mystery woman is exactly what he needs. Except as they find themselves together more and more, it’s impossible for him to keep his feelings at bay. She’s clever and sassy. She’s gracious and kind. She loves riding on the back of his bike every Saturday afternoon and lazing in his bed every Sunday morning. She’s the perfect woman.

Big disappointment
Revisado: 07-21-22
Emmet has been villigent in checking everyone they encounter throughout the entire series. Now a new person arrives in town and not one check even after Leo and his wife had numerous attempts on their life. Emmet brings Nova to his house 5 min after saying hello. He never brings any night stand to his house. Liked Emmet in books 1 through 5, book 6 ruined his character.
Did not like Nova.
After hearing how Nova's brother and his friends ambushed Stone, Leo and Dash. I don't understand the guilt or revenge. If the warriors didnt have bad aim the 3 of them could be dead. Warriors did take they revenge and killed Stone.
Basically 75% of book is screwing. Hate when the qualitty isn't put into the last book of a series.

Historia
Investigative reporter Max Revere has cracked many cases, but the one investigation she's never attempted is the mystery from her own past. Seven years after the postcards stop coming, Martha Revere is declared legally dead, with no sign of what may have happened to her. Until now. With a single clue - that her mother’s car disappeared 16 years ago in a small town on the Chesapeake Bay - Max drops everything to finally seek the truth.

It's ok, rushed ending catching bad guy.
Revisado: 06-26-22
Better than book 4 but not the best in series. A bit redundant, predictable and too quick in love. Couldn't Max just work with someone and not have to hook up. It's ok to concentrate on work for a bit after ending a relationship. Really another FBI agent. There was enough personal drama I think the romance took away from the story. Would rather have paternity tests then a instant romance.
Slowly unwrapping story with unnecessary characters then rushing through conclusion of finding murderer .

Historia
Over a span of 20 years, four boys have been kidnapped from their bedrooms, suffocated, and buried nearby in a shallow grave. Serial killer or coincidence? That's the question investigative reporter Maxine Revere sets out to answer when an old friend begs her to help exonerate his wife, who has been charged with their son's recent murder. But Max can do little to help because the police and D.A. won't talk to her - they think they have the right woman. Instead, Max turns her attention to three similar cold cases. If she can solve them, she might be able to help her friend.

Disappointed., Lucy Kinkaid took over story
Revisado: 06-25-22
Kinkaids overbearing and ruined much of the story for me. Max kept taking a back seat to Lucy. This was a Max series not throw the baton to the Kinkaids.
Another complaint fathers custody. In 2014 when book was written fathers were given more equal custody and visitation even unmarried dad's. Both children are old enough to speak up in family court.

juvenile story.
Revisado: 05-28-22
Too much the same. Way ridiculous. Several dead bodies, property damage and, arson,, but assign case to most incompetent detective. For a small town the property investors should have some clout to help solve their crimes.
Every part of the story involving Maura is just dumb. Tthe idea of purchasing a bakery. She talks how successful, she was but has no business experience. Looks at her savings balance, but just spends. Gets a loan, with no business plan.
Hear people outside her house, big idea is turn on lights, not call 911.
She attempts to look for crooks, no skills, no common sense. Again just call 911, when you find them ready for break innot let them see you them get away.
Worse part of story dress and talk like a man, and killer just buys it.

Historia
Inheriting her grandparents' island estate on Florida's Gulf coast is a special kind of homecoming for thirty-one-year-old Charity Baxter. Raised by a narcissistic single mother, Charity's only sense of a loving home comes from childhood summers spent with Gramps and Grandma. But piercing her fondest memories is her sharpest grief - the death of her beloved grandmother, when Charity stopped believing in the magical healing power of the weeping willow that still casts a shadow on their property.

Historia
Blogging about bad dates used to be fun, but a girl can only take so much foolishness. So I broke up with my job. Okay, full disclosure, I was fired. It’s a long, sordid tale, involving my sourdough starter - RIP, Fred! - and my ex-boss’ serious lack of humor. Newly funemployed and in need of a break, I go to Asheville to dogsit for my sister…and stumble onto a scoop big enough to put my fake-dating days behind me forever.

Devney annoying
Revisado: 07-04-21
Dislike when women are so uncompromising. Annoyed when Devney couldn't find a way to work out long distance relationship. Reasoning selfish, since she said she needed support. Austin wanted to move away from pain. She could have put selling off house. Baseball is mostly a summer sport, or move to Tampa in summer. Also in this book mentions a women with children is a widow of a service man. Too much of Devney"s drama is redundant and annoying, people move for partners careers all the time, and or have time apart and long hours or lots of travel.
