Just not good

It is a jail planet where the people in it are murderers. The real question is, why not just kill these horrible people with the death penalty? NO lets put them on a planet even though they have killed thousands of people!!! Then of course, the guards are corrupt and they evil people need to be SAVED!!!! No.

There is a reason it is sold as a set of 1-4, I would NEVER buy even one of these books. I got this only because of Jeff Hays who did an amazing job and it wasn't worth listening to.

This book was more of the same as the first but instead of being entertaining it felt like it was trying too hard. it is almost as if the author ran out of good material and this is the leftover.

There was also a bunch of completely whiny "o poor me" moments that I feel were just stuck in the story in order to justify the Main Character's behavior. It seems that all these new books justify the actions of people by saying that they are depressed and have trauma. Why can't the character just be the way they are? not only is it okay, but it is realistic that people are flawed and it isn't just because of trauma.

The story itself also barely progressed, The story is the mc gets to town, town gets attacked by monsters, 1 new character appears, end story... the rest of the book is just a bunch of fluff.

Yes Yes YES!

You know those books that just get better, like they were already great but you had to deal with too much world building and character development so that they could get to the good stuff? Well this is the sweet spot for this series so far. All the extra, which was needed, is now not. It is just pure well written enjoyment at this point. Read it, you will not be disappointed in any way.

If you like well written books that do everything right and have no stupid plot armor while having good character development this is IT. It doesn't matter if you like the genre this is one of those books where the characters do the right thing in the right way and it is GOOD. SO read it. That is all I have to say about it because good books are good books regardless of genre or personal preference. This is a good book.

Lame and weak MC

Lame MC who purposely acts dumb so plot armor and deus ex machina can save his one bad choice after another. it is an extremely frustrating read. I had 0 fun and never felt like I was cheering him on. This book is a constant test of your patience. This is one of those books that if you just gave the MC a gun and he was willing to kill the bad people at the start that there would be no story because the problem would have been solved in chapter one.

It is like the other reviews said, pointless magic system under the guise of "isn't this cool!", which it was not. also there is no real reason for anything that the MC does, no villain or time crunch because evil or anything. The MC's power is literally to be able to plot armor deus ex machina. His magic can do anything as long as his life is in danger. So every time the MC is in danger is because he purposefully does stupid things so that he will almost die knowing that his magic will save him. His training consists of weeks of doing this. I still don't understand why he needs to train his luck magic, this isn't a LitRPG so he doesn't level and he doesn't actually get any better nor does he need to because the author keeps saying in the book to remind you that his magic always works and breaks the rules of the world when he is going to die. This is said over and over again. The book ends with the MC having 0 growth both socially and in ability. There is a reason that this was free. I have removed it from my library and will never read from this author again. I was only able to finish this book because I was stuck on an airplane and couldn't download anything else.

This was so bad I can't belive Ugland wrote it!

This book is a waste of time. The book is this, MC refuses to kill evil person because he is woke AF and "killing bad." Then that same person continues to try enslave him and kill all his friends. The MC, escape and continues to not kill this person. That SAME person continues to hunt him and his friends while killing people and enslaving people. This happens 3 times in a row because the MC won't kill the bad man because somehow that would make the MC bad. Then the book ends. This is a case of the MC acts dumb just to create a story but OMG it is SOO cool because look how awesome it is that the MC tried to take the moral high road... with a literal MURDERER and SLAVER... Yeaah... That doesn't make the MC a good person, just stupid.
