Interesting characters

I really enjoyed this book and the author's writing style. As others have stated, it's not a plot driven story but more of a character study of Jane and her relationships with friends and family. It was funny and loaded with commentary on everyday life with quirky characters. If you're looking for a strong plot with twists and turns, this is not the book for you.

A truly unique and entertaining scienc-y story

I really enjoyed this book just as much as The Martian. It's still about space, but this is a totally different story. I was pleasantly surprised that the author was able to pull off another really scienc-y book that appeals to my inner engineer and is totally entertaining.

Great plan with lots of motivation

Very good plan to lose weight. The reading of the daily meals is a little repetitive, but the book is good. I've lost weight following the plan. The PDF file is the meat of the plan, but the rest is motivational stories and instructions to conquer setbacks and making permanent mind changes. I actually bought the Kindle version first, then got the audio version for listening in my car.

Narration is the problem here

I struggled with this one because the narration was just not good. It sounded like someone "reading" the book instead of "performing" the story. I just couldn't get buried in the story because of her voice. I also thought the plot was very predictable.

Inspiring

I loved this book. As a lover of all of Ms. Rhimes shows, I bought this book because I admire what she has done for primetime TV. What's better though is that this was a very relatable memoir. I loved that I could relate to many things she had to say from the point of view of an African American, and as a woman. We often think these people that are very successful have it all and I love that she shared her unhappiness and her transformation in a laugh out loud funny way. I was truly inspired by this book. Her narration is also very good.

Story line getting better, Sex getting stale

This book was good. I love that we are getting to see more character development with Peabody. She is my favorite character. I will say that I have gotten tired of the love scenes involving Dallas and Rourke, I find myself skipping through those at this point. Since I know Roberts is a romance writer, I do expect there to be sex in the books. I just hope going forward there are sex scenes that focus on other characters and less on Dallas.

Mixed feelings

I have really enjoyed this series from the first book; however, this book was not as good as the others. I thought that some of the explanations for things that we had been waiting on throughout the series were handled a bit callously or too quickly and were not well developed. It almost seemed as if the author changed her mind at the last minute about how to explain some of the ongoing story lines. I also feel that Charlie, as a character, should be maturing (in relation to her recklessness) a little more with all of the changes that have happened in her life. Overall though, there were quite a few things that happened that still made me want to get the next book in the series to see how this story will progress.

Worth listening to the rest of the series

I love Molly Harper and the narrator Amanda Ronconi. I have listened to all of the books that are available by this author and she does not disappoint. This is more chick lit than blood lust, so if you are looking for a loads of action and violence, this isn't it. It is a good tale of the main character Jane. She is hilarious with her witty and dry sense of humor. As you follow this character you come to love her quirks and the personalities of the other characters even more. I hated for the series to come to an end.

Can't wait for book 4!

I discovered this series after listening to the Succubus books. I didn't like the narrator of this series at first but I think she got better after the first book and started to grow on me. The story, had me totally engrossed. Richelle Mead is a wonderful storyteller. Eugenie had me on an emotional roller coaster. One minute I love her, the next I hate her. She quite possibly has the worst judgement ever when it comes to men but I couldn't stop listening. By now, I have fallen in love with Dorian and his sense of humor. I haven't liked Kiyo since book one and I can't wait to see what Eugenie decides to do about the mess she has gotten herself into.
