Great world building

I got this book mainly because I liked the cover, Westerns are usually not my thing. But I was pleasantly surprised. This is much more of a fantasy novel than a Western even though it takes place on a ranch - in a different world than ours. The world building is very good and all the characters are interesting and well written, I look forward to reading more about them in the next book. It takes the MCs about half the book to come together, but after that there’s a lot of very hot sex with some elements of BDSM and a threesome.

A very sweet love story

This story centers around a couple who originally met as pen pals while one of them was imprisoned. The premise is interesting and luckily for CJ, Tank, who is the “Daddy,” is a very honest and good man. Otherwise trusting someone so completely so quickly could have gone very badly. But after some obstacles are overcome and with a lot of very hot sex this story works out happily. I listened to it in one sitting and enjoyed it a lot. Had me smiling while I was doing my work. I’ll definitely follow up with the next book.

I've been eagerly awaiting each next installment of this story, and it never disappoints. This is a wonderful fantasy series with interesting heroes, elves, villains, dragons - and even zombies! Somehow, it all works together. While it is certainly a fairy tale, by this installment it doesn't really refer to Cinderella anymore, not that that matters to me.

Fun and entertaining

This was a very fun and entertaining story to listen to. It's an adult fairy tale involving a rescued prince and a pauper posing as a prince, hi jinx and romance ensues. The characters are interesting, there's a lot of banter and adventure, with a bit of not very explicit sex thrown in.
I will keep following this series, hope the sequels come out in audio soon.

Good story, needs editor

While the story and the world building in general were interesting, there were just too many inconsistencies, and it was too long-winded. For example, does the MC really have to pick apart his feelings while he's urgently looking for a badly injured pack member who is being kept hostage? Also there are contradictions about the populations and behaviors of this world. For example, the werewolves can live extremely long, but mostly they only survive a few decades, but there are a lot of centuries-old wolves. A good editor could straighten out those flaws. I probably will check out another book by this author.

Good story

I was kind of hesitant to start this book, end-of-the-world scenario seemed kind of depressing at this time. But I really ended up liking this story, suspenseful and well put together. I did like the development of the relationship between the main characters. The narrator isn't as terrible as some of the other reviewers seem to think, he's just a bit too mellow for this story. Speeding up the reading speed helps.

Very believable historical romance and mystery

A lot of suspense in this story besides the very sexy romance. I did enjoy the glimpse of the larger problems of the society of that time, sad how much has stayed similar. With historical romances I always ache for the pain and difficulties gay men had to endure. There should be a sequel, I would be interested to hear more about these characters, especially the singer Bertrand.

Interesting new fantasy world

This fantasy world is interesting enough that I finished the book in one day and already put the next installment in my wish list. I love the humor, had me smiling a lot.
The reasons I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 are that I'm not a fan of mpreg, I think the story didn't really need that. Also, I think Jared's rape wasn't treated seriously enough, I don't remember it even being called rape at all.
The narrator was just great, I loved the different accents and voices, it was easy to tell who was speaking.
