I listen to nearly everything on 2 to 2.5 speed. The author reads this content with such a monotonous and rapid pace, it becomes impossible to absorb the content without slowing down and frequently pausing. Clearly, they lost value by not hiring a professional reader. Sad, because I feel the content might be worth it, but this will take me twice as long to work through, what a needless chore.

Embarrassing.

Narrator was ok at best, but forced. The story is just awful. The cat species feels like it's just pandering to cat obsessed weirdos. It does not at all feel like a species, let alone one that feels in place. Butcher's done far better work.

Not my favorite in the series so far.

I've loved this world since the beginning, but this book was painful at so many times. I liked the premise. There were far too many momemts where the gimmick dialogue, normally used to great effect, fell flat while characters seemed to get plot harpooned through the narrative.
my biggest frustration however was the realization that all the "heroes" of the story are pouty villains. I'm getting the next book because of my LOVE of the first two, I really hope Scott gets back to those roots. Plots that braid shouldn't mirror each other bud. Reread your own early material and remember what you were thinking.
