Grant Masterson is a man with nothing left to lose.... A disgraced ex-cop, framed by a crooked politician, abandoned by his family, he’s forced into the life of a bounty hunter just to survive. Tracking down a traitor who stole military-grade weapons to sell on the black market, Masterson finds out things aren’t as simple as the wanted poster made them seem. Because Delia Beckett isn’t a traitor, simply a patsy, and the forces manipulating her may be the same ones responsible for Masterson’s fall from grace.

Historia
Hugh McDaniel lives in Queens, New York. He's a genius, and he has been struggling to pick one area to focus his life’s work on. His brother and best friend, Travis, is a marine officer. They get along very well, despite their differences. When aliens suddenly invade and destroy their entire culture, they are forced to struggle together in the ruins. At first they just tried to survive; to collect food, medicine, weapons, and to find other survivors. But now, they've set their sights higher: on resistance and reclaiming their planet from invaders.

Too egocentric
Revisado: 11-04-23
The story was OK but the main character was way out of bounds. 'Hue' is the self described genius/leader and the author goes out of his way to state it over and over. Everyone agrees with Hue and he's allways right. It makes the nook hard yo listen to.

Interesting story with a few flaws.
Revisado: 01-28-22
Mr. Grisham has written another intriguing story. Kind of fell down at the end.
As a former medical examiner/coroner, in my opinion, the Judge would have been given a full forensic autopsy. An ME has the obligation to do this in any death under medical care or of suspicious nature. This is especially true if law enforcement (FBI) is involved. This would be done reguardless of the deceased or family wishes. That's basic law.
Second, I think Janice could write a book and expose the Judge post mortem. Any publisher would jump at the story. Look at all the Jack the Ripper, Zodiac and Oakland County Child killer books out there. Might not be able to convict him but you sure could get the story out there.

Historia
World War III explodes in seconds when a resurgent Russian federation launches a deadly armored thrust into the heart of Germany. With a powerful blizzard providing cover, Russian tanks thunder down the autobahns while specially trained Spetsnaz teams strike at vulnerable command points. Standing against them are the woefully undermanned American forces. What they lack in numbers, they make up for in superior weapons and training.

Disappointed
Revisado: 03-31-21
The story is predictable. The end is abrupt, unrealistic and unsatisfying. Basically, most of the main characters die. The villains of the novel get away unpunished. War is treated as something to as something that has an on/off switch without taking in the political conditions and public opinions of a nation (USA) that's been attacked.

Historia
Following the disastrous Java Sea campaign, the Allies went on the offensive in the Pacific in a desperate attempt to halt the Japanese forces that were rampaging across the region. With the conquest of Australia a very real possibility, the stakes were high. Their target: the Japanese-held Soloman Islands, in particular the southern island of Guadalcanal. Hamstrung by arcane pre-war thinking and a bureaucratic mind-set, the US Navy had to adapt on the fly in order to compete with the mighty Imperial Japanese Navy, whose ingenuity had fostered the creation of its Pacific empire.

Historia
New York City native Jeremiah Salinger is one half of a hot-shot documentary-making team. He and his partner, Mike, made a reality show about roadies that skyrocketed them to fame. But now Salinger's left that all behind, to move with his wife, Annelise, and young daughter, Clara, to the remote part of Italy where Annelise grew up - the Alto Adige. Nestled in the Dolomites, this breathtaking, rural region that was once part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire remains more Austro than Italian.

The Civil War represented a momentous change in the character of war. It combined the projection of military might across a continent on a scale never before seen with an unprecedented mass mobilization of peoples. Yet despite the revolutionizing aspects of the Civil War, its leaders faced the same uncertainties that have vexed combatants since the days of Thucydides and the Peloponnesian War.

Too many "therefores" and interjections
Revisado: 12-05-19
This is a good history of the Civil War, but it is poorly edited. It seems like every other paragraph has a "yet", "therefore", or other interjections. This makes the book very choppy.

Historia
Set in present-day Los Angeles, Junk explores an epic conspiracy, one at work for thousands of years that involves total takeover of the planet Earth by aliens. In the wild, souped-up vision of Les Bohem - the acclaimed, Emmy-winning writer of the Steven Spielberg miniseries, Taken - the world is at the end stage of long-range plot that involves a gigantic genetic-engineering project. The aliens who have invaded us have no planet. No spaceship is coming. Instead, a small advance force comes, breeds, and dies - thus becoming an anomaly in our DNA that can’t be explained.
