delightful, insightful, and quite beautiful
Revisado: 06-22-24
I have read A Liberated Mind and Get Out of Your Mind and Into Your Life, both by Hayes, and this book is fast superior. it is accessible as a layperson and insightful as a graduate student studying psychology. Hayes' narration is also perfect. highly recommended for anyone interested in the topic, no matter what stage of life you are in.

Historia
You don't need a book to tell you this much: Sometimes things fall apart, crack open, and miss the mark. You can plan and strategize and keep your eye on the horizon, watching for trouble. And nothing you can do will protect you from the fact that things might, when you least expect it, go terribly, horribly wrong. If you're anxious about this, it's not like you don't have a reason. If you're very anxious about this, you're certainly not alone.

Good content, droll narration
Revisado: 06-14-24
this book has some really great content. like with many ACT based books, a lot of the content is redundant to other ACT books. however, this one has a bit more of a fresh way of discussing the concepts. great for any person struggling with anxiety, maybe not for the scholar though

Historia
In his writings, Lebanese poet Kahlil Gibran weaves Christian, Moslem, and Buddhist ideals into a spiritual tapestry that transcends cultural barriers. This collection of his lesser-known writings reveals the author's insights on youth, love, marriage, and truth, and delves into nationalism, religion, and spiritual growth.

amazing
Revisado: 05-05-19
everything about this audiobook was perfect. Johnny Cash's performance, the music, the editing, the pace, and of course; the magickal writing of Kahlil Gibran.

Historia
In today's fast-paced world of competitive workplaces and turbulent economic conditions, each of us is searching for effective tools that can help us to manage, adapt, and strike out ahead of the pack. By now, emotional intelligence (EQ) needs little introduction - it’s no secret that EQ is critical to your success. But knowing what EQ is and knowing how to use it to improve your life are two very different things.

Historia
What does it take to be secure in our sense of belonging and self-worth? We may hustle to attain this security through achievements, meeting expectations, or repeating affirmations to ourselves - but Dr. Brené Brown's research has shown there is ultimately one obstacle to our sense of worthiness. “Shame is the barrier,” she teaches, “and building shame resilience is how we overcome it.”

A master teacher. Though not her primo.
Revisado: 05-18-18
Brene Brown is a genius. To say that this is, "not her pinnacle work" is like declaring that Everest is less a mountain than Kilimanjaro. I recommend this book as a passive, interlude between her other work such as, "Daring Greatly", "Power of Vulnerability", and, "I Thought It Was Just Me".
