Love the narration and her pleasing accent! Wished for more depth on the topic of light enery healing but satisfied with content overall, and got more than I expected!

what a disappointment!
Revisado: 02-01-17
I purchase this book based on the comments of other readers, but I can tell you after listening to the Power Of mMyth is that there is in fact no power and myth! Campbell seems confused and conflicted at times. He gropes for meaning trying to derive spiritual significance from ritualistic practices of various cultures around the world. But then he also dismisses deity in any form, reducing got to mere mortal traditions or a concept of one's own making. How sad. Campbell seems to find Godlike expression in the traditions of cultures. He jumps around from topic to topic not fully explaining any of them. Many times throughout this book he seems to ramble without continuity. This book is not for those who are seeking the deeper meaning of life. Rather, it is a book of memoirs from Campbell's Reflections which I find somewhat meaningless. I'm giving this two stars instead of one star because there were a couple of good points raised in this book. However I am disappointed that there is not more wisdom presented here.

Historia
As much as science tries to answer all our questions and technology tries to make life easier, there is always a part of us that hungers for something greater. "We have souls that need meaning and purpose as much as the body needs food and water," says Thomas Moore. With A Personal Spirituality, this respected teacher presents a guide for cultivating your own practice and faith - not based on laws etched in rigid tradition but on your inner yearning for wisdom and truth.

Great wisdom for Life!
Revisado: 09-10-16
Now my favorite Moore book! Being honest I have struggled with some other Thomas because I have been left hanging, wanting more thorough development of a topic. However this book seems to be different on that regard. Also I have found it extremely practical chalked full of wisdom gold nuggets. It is a great reference for life. The only disappointment, however minor, is that he does not talk about God except to make reference of God. He does however fully explore the subject of individual spirituality, and that I found very insightful.

Illuminating!
Revisado: 08-26-16
I have always admired people whose entire life seems to be integrated with what they do. they work at a calling with passion. I have wondered why what I do seems to be separate from what I live even though I enjoy or even love what I do. This book brings much clarity around the whole topic of work being more than a job, something you do for money. through the instruction given in this book I now realize my work's significance in the larger scheme of my life. I highly recommend it!
