Would you consider the audio edition of What Everyone Needs to Know about Islam, Second Edition to be better than the print version?

I did not read the print edition.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

There is not a story to change. It is a non-fiction book in question and answer format.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The presentation was very matter-of-fact.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was not particularly moved, however I did learn about Islam.

Any additional comments?

This book describes the main tenents of Islam. The book does tend to make the argument that all of the extremist violence that the world has seen from Islam is the result of misinterpretation. I tend to agree with that premise. However, probably to understand the faith more completely, one should probably read the Quoran. No immediate plan to do that.

Would you listen to The Handmaid's Tale: Special Edition again? Why?

I am now finishing listening to this the second time. I listened the first time. I then watched the hulu series, then re-read. The commentary at the end of this edition is useful in contextualizing the novel to the current day.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Handmaid's Tale: Special Edition?

One of the most memorable moments when a man accused of rape and is torn apart by the handmaids.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Claire Danes does a great job. She varies voices and brings you into Offred's world.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It gave me a disjointed and cold feeling. You can see some attitudes of the current day reflected in the novel.

It wasn't a story. It was a tip. And not a well explained one.

What didn’t you like about Isaac Anoom’s performance?

It was OK.

Disappointed. Short explanation. Could have googled and watched a free video

If you could sum up The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous (Including 12 Steps, Guides & Prayers ) in three words, what would they be?

Trusting God's Care.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

It wasn't a story. It's a textbook/bible for those struggling with alcoholism.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

He was monotonous.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

AA's program of recovery started in the early 20th Century, around the time of the depression. It started small and is world-wide. They are on to something.

The language of the book is archaic and some would say sexist. It does help to remember the generation in which it was written.

Good Overview of Anglican Path

If you could sum up The Anglican Way: A Guidebook in three words, what would they be?

What they believe.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

At times it was a bit dry. I would have included more stories of Anglicans.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Thomas McKenzie?

Yes.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No.

Book a bit dry but it was comprehensive.

I would probably try another book from Derek Thompson, but it would not be my first choice unless the topic was of interest to me.

Would you be willing to try another book from Derek Thompson? Why or why not?

I would be willing to another book from Derek Thompson. Just not my first choice. Some of the anecdotes were of interest about how popular things became popular.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Author did a good job reading his work. He was a bit monotone.

Could you see Hit Makers being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No.

If you want a basic book about marketing trends this is a good place to start. Not sure he breaks new ground.
