What made the experience of listening to The Martian the most enjoyable?

Andy Weir's ability to tell tales of catastrophic proportions, all while still keeping sarcastic humor in the mix, is what makes this story shine.

I don't read enough to tell you what I would compare it to, rather I believe I would compare other stories to this

The story of the Great boogeyman of Capitalism

we have all heard the Great economic battle of the Late 20th century: Capitalism vs Communism, but what is offered here is the story of that war through the eyes of the "evil" side. a great listen to show just how fragile peace was in a time of what could amount to an apocalyptic staredown, the Red Flag is a must for any person who is interested in the timeframe as well as the politics of the era.

don't know, it really is it's own style. But I don't read too much so I couldn't really answer

What does Roy Dotrice bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

the voice work was pretty nice and with a wide range of voice changes, it helped to separate the characters apart when you miss who it is that is actually talking

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes, but unfortunately that is pretty much impossible

Nice read and worth the time you put into it, though you may need to speed it up to 1.5-2x speed to get the enjoyment, otherwise it will be too slow to really pay attention to
