Historia
Weirdly, people don’t react overly well when you’re caught standing over the dead body of a murderer who’d walked free. It’s not that I thought my fellow homicide detective would rejoice when he saw what I’d done, but is a pat on the back too much to ask for? Maybe a gold star at the very least? The problem is that the person who caught me is Gabriel, the only person I care for and adore… and he’s prepared to look the other way if I leave homicide and promise to never kill again.

I Want to Live Here
Revisado: 03-15-25
I started off a little bit meh with Chloe's writing, but I liked the positivity and the other beings enough that I read more.
Well, now I've read all of her writing and I wish she'd develop a small team of similar writers to expand the world now.
For me, it's the world building and knowing that so many potential mates will be moving in soon.
I want to spend so much more time in this town and watch everything grow and flourish as they build relationships and new small businesses with people looking for a fresh start. Alas, no more exists.
I don't know how often Chloe finishes books, but I imagine one a year is probably somewhat normal for authors.
I also enjoyed what I perceive as autistic representation. It's so nice to watch people clearly state their boundaries and sensory issues and not have a partner take it personally or get annoyed. I've always had to dance that little communication dance with partners, and you never know how it will turn out.
Of course, the whole loving somebody enough that your sensory issues don't matter can happen for some things, but definitely not all. For example, I could love somebody enough to die for them, but I could never love somebody enough to put my tongue on or in their asterisk. Just saying. lol

Time for a warning?
Revisado: 11-13-24
Future misspellings on purpose.
Okay, we're all about seven(?) books deep, so we know what to expect. They are about seed, lots of seed, and so much seed, I've honestly been zoning out during those parts for a while now because it's not my jam, but I'm genuinely interested in what becomes of Orc Mountain. Lol.
However, I think the come guzzling has finally reached Ludicrous Speed. There aren't really even many seggsy time details anymore beyond come guzzling, and the Orcs have eight O's before there's any sign of a woman having one.
Anyway, I was driving and couldn't get to my phone to skip ahead, and there was one scene where I actually almost threw up. I was LA LA LAing at the top of my lungs and doing my best to picture waterfalls. So if you're not a weirdo who's just still in it for the plot, you'll probably be happy.
They even talk about how sweet and delicious it is, so I tried imagining different possible foods that my brain could substitute for what was happening. It didn't help, but now I think I'm going to have a really uncomfortable time eating tapioca pudding or Boston cream donuts in the future.
Thank you for your time.

Revisado: 05-19-24
A male Mary Sue seeks to save an island of exiles by simply being better at everything than everyone, while collecting a virginal female of every race like SeggsPokémon.
As a woman, I spent a lot of time hoping maternal mortality rates aren't a thing in this world because he is impregnating women left and right while essentially living in the stone age.
There's nothing bad about this, but it just didn't engage me very much. I like survival novels, but all the survival stuff happens behind the scenes.
I like romance novels, but the romance was essentially,
"I want to be intimate with you."
"I want to be intimate with you."
*Shares intimacy while she screams about how he is the most amazing thing ever*
"Bond mates?"
"Bond mates."
So, if you just want to escape to a low-stakes fantasy world where you can imagine being naturally amazing at everything you do, while every race stands in awe of you as you collect a harem of insatiable women, this is could be the book for you.

So Good, but then the Awful Ending?
Revisado: 05-04-24
I loved the comfort this world had to offer, but then the last 2 hours, worlds- disrupting conflict pops up, and everything is left in chaos?
I read romance for the HEA. Either the conflict could have been introduced in the first 3/4 of the book, and wet could have had a bit more resolution, or just don't mess up the beautiful fantasy world that we've been allowed to escape to.
Loved most of the book, but the ending was really, really disappointing.

Historia
Destiny Jones is a princess with a bad attitude. She doesn’t play nice with others, she doesn’t dress up in pretty clothes, and she has absolutely zero interest in behaving like a lady. Especially when she’s so close to catching the people who tried to have her killed. Oh, and kidnapped her mother, queen of the planet Alera. Destiny’s sex-starved body, and its annoying Aleran Ardor, might kill her if her enemies don’t find her first.

You Know what you're Gonna Get
Revisado: 04-30-24
If you like this author, you will like the book. It's the same good stuff, and I enjoyed how it spanned over three different books. I also enjoyed how this time the FH legitimately put the MH in his place, like actually did not take his crap.
However,
***MAJOR***** PLOT***** SPOILER****** I find it absolutely hilarious that the main goal of the three main characters in these three books had been to rescue their mother/queen who has been kidnapped and imprisoned for 27 years, and they were also busy having sweet sweet love with their new men and being protected, that their mom finally decided after 27 years to rescue herself. LOL and it wasn't even all that difficult. Three novels, and the Queen is like, well I don't think they're coming, I guess I should go now. And she does. ********END SPOILER*******
But don't worry; there are other things to tie together, and who's reading for the plot?

Micah Beck is the last thing I expect to find wandering around my brother's beach house, naked, only wearing an acoustic guitar, but he's the first thing that has ever had me craving for just one "anything goes" night. Micah is tempting, talented, and addictive to the last drop. Not to mention, he's completely confident in all that he does. Especially with those fingers, and I can't deny that it's such a turn on.

Is this still a thing?
Revisado: 03-29-24
Is there a subset of women who enjoy the whole, "You're a grown woman, but I demand you don't have seggs" trope?
The whole conflict is that, while her older brother is a slud, she's not allowed to touch or be touched by a man. He literally said it's because, "She's a girl, so it's different," and she has nothing to say about that.
He later comes down from having random seggs in his office to demand some more that she is untouched. The older brother only interacts with or about her to make sure she doesn't get to enjoy anything physical.
She's 21 and a published author. Blech.

Historia
If driving a piece-of-crap tow truck through the seediest part of town with a Smith & Wesson beside her means putting a roof over her son’s head, then Samantha Jones is going to be the best damn repo woman on the books. The streetwalkers, the drug pushers, the bands of looking-for-trouble punks haunting the mean streets at midnight don’t intimidate her. These are her people. The guy she finds bound and bloodied in the trunk of her latest conquest, a flashy new BMW, is a different breed entirely.

Great writing, but wanted the payoff
Revisado: 02-26-23
I was so torn about this novel, but I really enjoyed the series as a whole, and I honestly couldn't sleep until I finished this book.
The way the author focuses on one person only with almost no insight into the other's feelings, , you really feel the loss when they are apart.
However, 5 hrs in, the author actually convinced me that these two shouldn't be together. I started looking for information to see if another love interest was going to be introduced.
This relationship had a lot of struggle, but you also feel good during the times they are together.
But the worst part,

When they finally broke through their barriers to fall in love, the story ended.
Lterally.
When it happened, I was like, "Finally! I can reap some of the joy out of this struggle!"
But the novel was over. We never get to have the part of relationship that begins when both parties finally admit their love.
So the ending left me feeling a little bit hollow. I imagine it was kind of like intense eggs with zero cuddling after and the other person just goes home.

My new neighbor is a firefighter - and a scorching-hot single dad - but I swear I didn’t set off that smoke alarm on purpose. (And I was beyond mortified when he rushed in and saw me naked.) Nothing happened, of course - because I, Winnie MacAllister, romance junkie and owner of a constantly broken heart, have sworn off men for one solid year. Even protective men with chiseled jaws, bulging biceps, and deep brown eyes that make my breath come faster.

I could not keep listening to the children characters in this book. I got too annoyed and stressed in the first few chapters. Some people might think it's cute that they are constantly taking and never listen ever, but I guess my tolerance is low.
It was also kinda weird they kept referring to this man who has his kids two days a week as a single dad. It's that regional? Normally a single parent is the one who is raising the kids.
