Historia
Eight months since losing her mother in the Spanish flu outbreak of 1919, 21-year-old Lillian Carter's life has completely fallen apart. For the past six years, under the moniker Angelica, Lillian was one of the most sought-after artists' models in New York City, with statues based on her figure gracing landmarks from the Plaza Hotel to the Brooklyn Bridge

Somewhat entertaining

The story was a bit silly and unrealistic. If looking for a light and easy read, this would do.

Horrible narration

Great stories, but . . .
Revisado: 08-09-15
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
It was not time well spent because the narrator had a very annoying voice. These stories are wonderful classics and I so looked forward to listening to them, but the narrator had such a strange style of speaking, I just couldn't listen. The unfortunate thing is that she narrated all the stories.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Fifty Classic Horror Stories?
The most memorable moment was when I stopped listening in the middle of the fourth story because of the narrator and made the decision to delete the collection from my library.
Would you be willing to try another one of Cathy Dobson’s performances?
No.

Historia
Herman Wouk's sweeping epic of World War II, which begins with The Winds of War and continues here in War and Remembrance, stands as the crowning achievement of one of America's most celebrated storytellers. Like no other books about the war, Wouk's spellbinding narrative captures the tide of global events - and all the drama, romance, heroism, and tragedy of World War II - as it immerses us in the lives of a single American family drawn into the very center of the war's maelstrom.

The Winds of War and War and Remembrance are the best and most important stories I've ever been told. Very highly recommended.
