Historia
From iconic books like Neuromancer to blockbuster films like The Matrix, virtual reality has long been hailed as the ultimate technology. But outside of a few research labs and military training facilities, this tantalizing vision of the future was nothing but science fiction. Until 2012, when Oculus founder Palmer Luckey - then just a rebellious teenage dreamer living alone in a camper trailer - invents a device that has the potential to change everything.

Awesome to learn how modern VR came to be. I’m going to have to get one now. Was a tough road with people like Brendan Iribe, that backstabber.

Historia
In 1518, in a small town in Alsace, Frau Troffea began dancing and didn't stop. She danced until she was carried away six days later, and soon 34 more villagers joined her. Then more. In a month more than 400 people had been stricken by the mysterious dancing plague. In late-19th-century England an eccentric gentleman founded the No Nose Club in his gracious townhome - a social club for those who had lost their noses, and other body parts, to the plague of syphilis for which there was then no cure.

Worth listening
Revisado: 02-24-18
The book is nicely broken down by disease and is detailed enough yet will keep you interested with remarkable facts about the process the diseases take and how humans react to them. Jennifer also obviously has a great morbid sense of humor. Only thing that may turn some off is her obviously left wing tilt that comes through, but if we’re all big boys and girls we can weed out that stuff if we want and realize it’s a worthwhile listen.

Historia
In Israel and the West, it is called the Six Day War. In the Arab world, it is known as the June War or, simply, as "the Setback". Never has a conflict so short, unforeseen, and largely unwanted by both sides so transformed the world. The Yom Kippur War, the war in Lebanon, the Camp David accords, the controversy over Jerusalem and Jewish settlements in the West Bank, the intifada, and the rise of Palestinian terror are all part of the outcome of those six days.

Great education on 6 day war
Revisado: 01-06-18
If you want an in-depth education of the Six-Day War this is the book for you. I will say it is more than just a basic Account of the war so if you are wanting something less comprehensive this may not be for you. I would definitely recommend this for anyone with even just a moderate interest in history.

Historia
Israel is a tiny state, and yet it has captured the world's attention, aroused its imagination, and, lately, been the object of its opprobrium. Why does such a small country speak to so many global concerns? More pressingly: Why does Israel make the decisions it does? And what lies in its future? We cannot answer these questions until we understand Israel's people and the questions and conflicts, the hopes and desires, that have animated their conversations and actions.

You will never look at running the same again. You will learn about some amazing tribes that still exist that do some very amazing things. You will learn about people who run hundreds of miles not just marathons, and you will learn about how our feet have become puny from wearing such supportive shoes. Great lesson!

Historia
Ancient Egyptian civilization is so grand our minds sometimes have difficulty adjusting to it. It lasted 3,000 years, longer than any other on the planet. Its Great Pyramid of Cheops was the tallest building in the world until well into the 19th century and remains the only Ancient Wonder still standing. And it was the most technologically advanced of the ancient civilizations, with the medical knowledge that made Egyptian physicians the most famous in the world.

I like listening to lectures and this one definitely informed. I never remember all the different names involved in the courses but they still seem to fill a gap in my lack of history knowledge and this one did the same. The Norman invasion was certainly an important event.

Historia
A definitive, deeply moving narrative, Bonhoeffer is a story of moral courage in the face of the monstrous evil that was Nazism. After discovering the fire of true faith in a Harlem church, Bonhoeffer returned to Germany and became one of the first to speak out against Hitler. As a double agent, he joined the plot to assassinate the Führer and was hanged in Flossenbürg concentration camp at age thirty-nine. Since his death, Bonhoeffer has grown to be one of the most fascinating, complex figures of the twentieth century.

Where does Bonhoeffer rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Top 10%
What was one of the most memorable moments of Bonhoeffer?
When others from the prison he was in wrote how uplifting and calm he was while most others were in dispair. He knew what he was in for and knew what god had in store for him.
Which scene was your favorite?
No particular scene, just the bits of the book that show that even though he was a devout Christian and was willing to die for his religion he was a man who loved to play. Whether it was table tennis, soccer or whatever he was also a big kid at times.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes
Any additional comments?
If you want to listen to an uplifting christian book that is also a great history book this will certainly do.
