Though it’s a little shorter than books 1 & 2 it’s just as full of action and even more great characters. I look forward to seeing what the new character contribute to the overall storyline.

I almost stopped listening

Strong female lead

The female lead is strong both physically and emotionally. I love how this story progresses, the “sidekick” characters are well written and the storyline never lags. I appreciate that even though the story continues there isn’t an unnecessary cliffhanger ending just for the sake of drama.
My only beef would be that sometimes following the multiple storylines that switched back and forth was difficult because the character voices were distinct enough. That said, I can’t wait for the next installment, I’ve already downloaded it.

Weird Accents

This book is a quick listen and a VERY slow burn. The characters are interesting but the Irish accent the narrator used for the main male character kept pulling me out of the story. Maybe it’s because they are in SF and she was trying to give it a Cali spin, but it was weird.

I was bummed when I learned I had to take a detour from the original series. It was well worth it though. The performance and story are both on par with the original series and the story deviated just the right amount to see the parallels while keeping it unique.
