It is my favorite audio that she created that I've listened to. I recommend slowing it down to 90%.

Historia
We all obsess about worrying less, but worrying can actually be good for you. Similarly, we strive to be proactive and fast - but aren't there hidden benefits to procrastinating? The last thing a parent is meant to do is neglect their offspring, but children do amazing things when you just leave them alone. And at work we spend hours frantically brainstorming, but isn't there a benefit to just lazily staring out of the window? Everything Bad Is Good for You is a new series of short audiobooks dedicated to the much-maligned personality traits that we should actually be promoting.

Paint the world in you negativity
Revisado: 01-05-20
The author says goodness and virtue are exceedingly rare. He is very anti-conservative values in general and insulting to those who hold those values. Pass on this one for it will not make you happier at all.

Is medication the only way to treat phobias, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, or other such concerns? Do you always need outside pharmaceutical assistance to treat your deep inner problems? No. Medication is not the solution always, and some people don’t even like getting treated that way. There is a better way - treatment from inside to outside. And Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the way to go, as it heals and strengthens you from inside to outside.

Save your time
- De Jeff D. Kimball en 03-09-20
Not very substantive at all. A few useful ideas.
Revisado: 08-04-19
Had a few useful ideas in the last 30 minutes. The book was basically a description of CBT for 3/4 of it.

Historia
In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the OASIS, a vast virtual world where most of humanity spends their days. When the eccentric creator of the OASIS dies, he leaves behind a series of fiendish puzzles, based on his obsession with the pop culture of decades past. Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.

A little thin on plot.
Revisado: 04-08-18
It grew tedious fairly early with the author piling every 80's pop culture reference possible without really telling a story that moved me in any way. None of the characters are likable. Most are immature gamers shirking as much responsibility as possible. I could only make it about 70% through. It is basically a read along play by play of a video game. It really shows how disfunctional living a virtual world focused life can become. The narrator did a very good job though. I do not recommend this book and will not see the movie.

Historia
The world will end on Saturday. Next Saturday. Just before dinner, according to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655. The armies of Good and Evil are amassing and everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except that a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture. And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist.

No story

I was only able to listen to half of it. There didn't appear to be any real story, just random forced attempts at humor. Skip this one is my advice.

Historia
Neuroscience finds that spontaneous acts of mindfulness decrease stress, depression and anxiety, increasing overall well-being. But studies also show that purposeful mindfulness techniques, such as vipassana or mindfulness meditation, are even more powerful. Mindfulness meditation re-wires the brain in a way that decreases physical pain and psychological suffering.

Awesome encouragement
Revisado: 05-01-17
This book provides a great amount of information and encouragement that there is a real, lasting way to improve life. I will begin to meditate and listen to it again. The book doesn't actually teach meditation but does provide a strong stimulus to seek out how and to begin.
The narrator did a great job too.

Historia
Winner of the Pulitzer Prize in 1974 and the culmination of a life's work, The Denial of Death is Ernest Becker's brilliant and impassioned answer to the "why" of human existence. In bold contrast to the predominant Freudian school of thought, Becker tackles the problem of the vital lie: man's refusal to acknowledge his own mortality. In doing so, he sheds new light on the nature of humanity and issues a call to life and its living that still resonates more than 30 years after its writing.

Another example of humans taking themselves and their ideas far to seriously. Pass on this one and spend your time doing something useful.
