In the final chapter of the A Shrouded World saga, Jack, Trip, and Mike have brought the fight to the Whistlers’ terrifying homeworld. With the help of some unexpected allies, the crew must finally find a way to stop the enemy before they can tear through the planes of existence and destroy all life. What they don’t know, what they can’t know, is that there is so much more to the enemy than they previously thought, and defeating them may be an impossible task.

Revisado: 09-29-21
Jack Walker and Michael Talbot together in this series made for one hell of a ride. Throw Trip into the mix and goes from a great adventure to a harrowing one with lots of twist and turns. Toss in BT, not the one we all know and love, but a similar one from a different time line as Talbots', along with two very strange aliens that Mike befriends; Bob who is a Blob, and Church, (Mike named him), who looks like something out of my garden I have to step on. . And of course there are the demons and angels but very different in the roles they play than the myths we are accustomed to And as well all figured out early on it all comes back to Trip whom is attempting to right a cosmic whirlpool of destruction and the reason for the Stoner's constant battle with his mind and ability to get himself and everyone else around him into trouble and out of it in his unique way. Whistles and Overseers are thrown in there because well there just wasn't enough for Mike and Jack to do... Mike and Jack are separated several times, find each other, and separated again. Each has their own style of dealing with things and not surprising it works for them as do their unique abilities and probably the only reason they survived world and dimension hopping. "POSSIBLE SPOILERS: Trip is attempting to fix the universe/universes in the only way he knows how and believed he found the two most likely to succeed; Mike and Jack. Along the way, we learn who and what exactly Trip really is and was. I admit, I was lost, had to go back to find certain references in the past books to understand but it was worth it. And sadly, it has come to an end. Pairing the two characters and authors style worked very well and we can only hope the ending that we saw for both characters will lead to more adventures, after all, this is Trip we are talking about...who know what other world/dimension saving adventures he will need them for. Lets hope these two authors feel the same. So many universes/dimensions/worlds that need two heroes, so many possibilities. The only thing I can say was wrong with this series is--it ended.

Not what I expected
Revisado: 07-18-20
I must admit this was one Tufo book I did not expect but in the end, It did not disappoint. (possible Spoilers) It was a little hard to get in to it; There is a prologue to this that explains the coming battle between good and evil and can be a bit confusing. But I was listening to it, not reading so I had to rewind it a couple of times mainly because I was interrupted. So sit and listen, it explains the unexplainable.
Three different story lines can be confusing; one is futuristic, one is present and one is in a different world/universe. So bear with it as we have three different locations/times/places jumping back and forth. I promise they will all merge in the end. In the beginning we have a young woman in London, England whose world will be turned upside when she learns she is more than she is, GOD is real and Evil is on the way. But she must navigate not only truths/half turths and deception which she can not decipher because she a bit too antogonistic, willful and stubborn and that gets her into more trouble that endangers her. To make matters worse, The Bleed, (the Big Bad) wants to stop what she must do if the world(s)/multiverses are to survive.
Jump to the future on the dark side of the moon a group of scientist are trying to find a way to cultivate the surface to save the Earth from its folly by destroying the enviroment. There are of course teenagers involved who just can't stay out of trouble. A mechanic(Maddie) who is trying to get them to safety as things begin to go wrong and Sandra, Mother to two of the Teenagers(Twins), arrogant and no one's friend, willing to sacrifice everyone, including her husband and children as long as she can get to safety when things go wrong.
Jump to the past; brother and sister who are reputed to be half human, half Gods and hated by the populace of their small village. They have a father who is constantly drunk, talks about his God wife and the importance of the war she and other Gods are waging against the demon soldiers of the Bleed. They think they are safe until one of their legends comes to pass and the sea bleeds, turning ordinary people into demons and the Halflings are their main target. Soon they are fleeing across their world to a large walled city where their father has told them they need to go to survive. And of course the demons are right behind them, laying waste to anything and anyone they see.
Confusing a bit slow at times and a couple of the characters did irritate me, but that is made up by some other other characters that will have you laughing at their antics in times of great danger. There is a reference in one of the Moon sequences that allude to a couple of Zombie Fallout characters and should be recognized any Tufonian.
Great start to a new series by one of my top favorite authors. I look forward to seeing what David Moody and Chris Philbrook can contribute to this series.
Scott Aiello does a great job in the narration. A must read/listen for any Tufo fan

Hellish Wonderland!!!!
Revisado: 07-04-20
Wow! I didn't think this World Trip brought Mike and Jack into could get any worse, but I was proven wrong. Alice's adventures in Wonderland are a picnic and tea party compared to what happens to our hapless heros.
Once again, Mike and Jack have found themselves trying to catch up and stay ahead with what happening around them and what is Tripp's involvent on a cosmic level, literaly, has to do with it. And of course, our favorite stoner only has moments of lucidity in which they muct interpret what he says and means which is not always the same. But they do learn much more about the Angels,/Overseers, Demons, Whistlers and Tripp. Unfortunately for Jack and Mike( possible spoilers) during a battle with the Night Runners, they are once again separated from not only each other but Tripp and BT and fall into the hands of the Whistlers and immediately placed in a 'chain gang' of sorts in the Whistler home world with scores of other aliens that have also fallen victim to the Whistlers.
To make matters worse, they are separated from each other...again.
They each have a task to do but don't know what it is and each must use their own ingenuity and inner strength to get through their hellish imprisonment.
Jack will do things his way and Mike, well Mike is Mike and he too will do what he does best,' get really pissed off and survive. At the same time both have to figure out what part they play in this new drama that Tripp has insisted they are an intregal part of while they are together and apart.
The visuals we get from each writer as they describe their character's ordeal is graphic, unrelenting and at tmes disgusting (both writers are very good at discription).
This is by far the best book in the series. John O'Brien has always done a wonderful job bringing Jack Walker to life. His collaboraton with Mark Tufo, who has given us MichaelTalbot( whom we all love to hear bitch and complain about all is phobias) was genius on their part. Their writing styles are as different as their characters, which works well since they are two very different characters. A must read/listen for any John O'Brien, Mark Tufo fan.
And of course Sean Runnette does a wonderful job bringing our favorite chaacters to life.
Love this series. Kudo's to my two favorite writers.

Revisado: 05-01-20
Prelude to Galaxy's Edge is more about life and who has the right to derermin when to call it Life. If programs into a thing that is "on" continue to grow, expand and learn, who is to say when sentieance begins. When a baby is born he immediately begins to learn from its environment; learned behavior is instilled as the child grows. Can not the same be said of an inanimate object programmed not only with self preservation but to assist and learn from those around it. Tin Man has a program and taking it to the next level can be attributed to the SLIC(med ship)pilot he is assigned to assisted.
Taking preservation of self but also unwavering loyalty and determination to save lives, he has learned in his own way to 'care', to hold memories of his actions to save lives and how to deal with them....but can it... He? After all, it is a machine...right?

Some hid deep underground or holed up in fortified strongholds, but most were swallowed up by the dead, never to be heard from again. Having lost both parents just weeks apart - one to Omega, the other to a brutal beating inflicted by Chinese PLA soldiers - 12-year-old Raven Grayson finds herself in the nation’s new capital, battling loneliness and depression, all while trying to find her place among her fellow transplanted Eden survivors.

Another hit!
Revisado: 04-04-20
Once again I'm drawn in by Mr. Chesser's attention to detail as much as the storyline itself. In the beginning, I thought it was kind of slow; Raven, Duncan and Damon are out collecting 'Ears' from twice dead Z's from which they get credits. Of course Raven is already far more mature for her twelve, almost thirteen years. (possible spoilers) And she is clearly no longer a child. Her demeanor is harder, no-nonsense which is to be expected after the loss of her mother and father. Thanks to Cade's lessons and the continued guidence she is firecracker ready to explode, unleashing frustations on any that cross her. Duncan and Damon know just when to apply the right 'hand' to keep her in place but for the most part she is left alone. Yes, I did believe the worst but no, he is still alive although still a way from full recovery. Of course we are talking about Cade Grayson and recover he does learning things as he while doing so. Of course the Pale Riders are more then anxious to get him back. And Cade has a mission to complete. While he recovers, joining his old group in the process, Raven has her own quest as she runs across a possible conspiricy that could destroy every thing she and all the survivors have worked for. Now it is up to father and daughter to make sure that doesn't happen.
There is no doubt in either of their minds what needs to be done, Cade using all his training from before the downfall and after while Raven uses all the ingenuity and training she possesses from both parentts. Now the question is...can they pull it off?
It does start slow but there is alot of detail that has to be covered on both their ends but it's worth the wait as both are on a mission and nothing will deter them. Yes. Another great installment to the series. Now the wait for the next one...

Revisado: 03-24-20
Once again, listening to Red Team; Cartel Part One has left me as speechless as if I had not ever read it. Yes, I have all his books and read them as well as the audbile and listen to them. The difference is in now your imagination and a great storyline has words thrumming through your head thanks to Mark Gagliardi's fantastic narration.
If you've read the book then you know what will happen; Red Team is now tasked with attempting (Possible Spoilers if you have not read the book) to persuade a Mexican Cartel to return two FBI agents they have kidnapped. And they can be very persuasive as they strike one hot location after another, taking out high level personel in their organization, destroying their bases and products...ect. Yes it is not what you would expect from Monster Hunters but stick with it if you have not read the book, the action will keep you glued. Drug cartels are a different type of monster, devouring hope and life as they ruthlessly enforce their laws and take all hope from those trapped in their midst.
And just when you think there might not be a new Beastie, out it comes! and Jack is in the fight of his life.
I've always said Mr. O'Brien has a gift when it comes to action scenes in any of his books; he places the reader/listener in the midst of the battles, whether they be human or inhuman monsters. The scenes are discriptive as are the emotions running though him and the team which would not have that great of an impact when listening to it unless you have a great narrator like Gagliardi. He does a great job in handling the scenes, whether they are in battle, private of just among team members. And yes once again, he/they leave you either screaming in frustation(that's me) or just disapppointed it ends and now you have to wait for the next installment. Either way, if you've already read the book, enjoy it all over again as you listen to the live action scenes...great Job Mr. O'Brien and Mr. Gagliardi, you two make a great team.

Better and better!!
Revisado: 03-19-20
Once again we are thrust into this crazy world right along with Mike Talbot, Jack Walker and now an overwieght double of BT. And standing with them is Big Red(Kalandar) as they navigate this unknown landscape threatened by the Overseers(evil Angels), the Whistlers, Zombies and Night Runners. This time they are on a mission to find Trip who has been taken by the Overseers. They know Trip is the major player in this but trying to navigate a world that is trying to kill them at every turn and getting a lucid answer from the Stoner is next to impossible. Traveling through the landscape of extreme heat and cold, drenching, blinding rain as they evade the Overseers, meet up with a contingent of soldiers that have also been transported to this hell world and decide to pool their forces to learn how, and why they have all been sucked into this madhouse. (possible spoilers)Their search leads them to the Taj Mahal, or a red facimile of what they know. It is here that friends become enemies as they are betrayed and forced into the structure where unfortunately they are separated into three different hell worlds. It is is here they learn that, once again, not everything is what it seems, including time, as they eventually find each other and must learn to trust each other again. Mutual enemies brings them to a tenuous understanding as they once again face off with a horde of Zombies that are literally dropped out of nowhere right behind the fleeing group and behind them are the Whistlers. Yeah a real mind bender on this one as they learn that this world is not the only one that is being devastated. But who is the real Protagonist; the Whistlers or Over Seers or someone or something different and how exactly does Trip fit into it all? That is a question that, if your looking for it to be answered in this installment....nope! Upside, you won't be dissappointed as they all face different challenges with almost no respite and terrifying new consequences. Although the past 5 installment were insanely fantastic, this one has got to be the best adventure yet!!

It's about Time
Revisado: 02-14-20
In the latest installment of Zombie Road series, the Road Angel finds himself on a mission in an attempt to save Scarlett before she dies. Inside the Tower and in Horowitz's hands is a machine that could well decide the past and present of all mankind. Jessie has learned how to use the Time machine and Horowitz wants that information at any cost. Each has their own agenda; Jessie just wants to save Scarlett before she is killed while Horowitz wants to be a God.
Each has his own mission but what neither understands is that Time is anything but fluid. Any disruption in the stream will lead to dire consequences. With each believing they can jump back and forth while achieving their goal, Time will teach them just how wrong they both are.
Easily one of the best installments of the series and am really looking forward to the next, hopefully not final chapter. Sit back and enjoy the ride, this is one that is very hard to either put down, if you're reading the book, or turn off if you, like me, are listening to it. As usual Eric Shelman, one of my favorite authors, does an excellent job narrating.

Fantastic seuel to a great series
Revisado: 12-29-19
When my two favorite authors get together it is more than just an adventure, it's the immersion of two different styles of writing, story telling and worlds. Yet they mesh seemlessly to give the reader/listener an experience like no other. Mark Tufo and John O'Brien have yet another hit in their collaboration of this series; A Shrouded World. Each adventure is more harrowing than the next and to make it interesting, they have been separated from each other but continue on the mission to find Trip who had been taken by the Over Seers. Along the way they each pick up companions like no other. Jack has his doppleganger, Otter, different yet very much alike. Mike has Kalendar, the fifteen foot red skinned demon who sees this as a great adventure.
But there are forces at work that appear determined to keep them apart, yet both are continuing to head in the same direction, same mission; find Trip and try to stop whatever the Overseers are up to and find a way back to their respective realities. Of course that is only the surface layer of their problems. They also have to contend with hordes of Night Runners, Zombies and Whistlers. Just to make things interesting add another Kalendar demon to the mix, this one determined to end Jack and is on his trail. Mike has asked the cosmos for help not really believing he will be heard. He gets his wish....sort of. BT is brought into the mix but this is not the BT that Mike knows nor does this BT like the Mike of his reality. This BT dispises the Mike Talbot he remembers. Yeah that makes it more interesting as open hostility from BT threatens their mission. And there is the continued time, scenaries and weather as well as doorways that open up leading away from their goal as well as each other. They come to the realization that someone or something is playing with them, switching the realities of the world they are trapped in until confusion has them running in circles. And of course the personalities of Jack and Mike clash and yet combine together so well, you can't help but laugh at the interaction between the two. However when they are side by side do not doubt their ability to survive. As they strive to find Trip, figure out what is going on they seem to be getting in deeper and deeper into the game they have been thrust into with help and obstecles coming so fast it makes your head spin.
Sit back and enjoy the ride and try to keep up. It was well worth the wait. Now you have to wait for the next installment. Which will not be too bad. If you are a fan of either author or both, they each have other series that are just as fantastic and worth looking into. Mark Tufo has the Zombie Fallout series with the newest one ZF 13 just released as well as several other series that are just as great while John O'Brien has A New World series as well as a few other series and as well as Red Team; Lycan with has just recently been released with the next in the series coming out very soon. Pop on over and pick up
their books. You will not be dissappointed.
