Historia
There are three things you need to know about Elizabeth Finney: 1) She suffers from severe sarcastic syndrome, especially when she's unnerved, 2) No one unnerves her like Nico Manganiello, and 3) She knows how to knit.

Boring and inane
Revisado: 06-19-20
This book is ridiculous. I am a sucker for books that help me escape from reality, but this one droned on for hours and twenty nowhere. I’d like my seven hours back!

Humanizes the refugee experience
Revisado: 06-25-18
I love this book. Not crazy about the narrator’s plaintive reading. But the story provides context and dimensions to a complex situation that has been whittled down to a 30 second soundbite. The descriptions of how her family is much like that of any modern family across the globe, how multiple generations of her family were and still are impacted by the war and the way that the diaspora can only complicate the pursuit of recovery from loss and trauma are something I have not seen in stories like this before. Thank you Tima for sharing your heartbreaking, beautiful, and powerful story.

it was ok. a little cheesy. sort of Pollyanna. not sure that I will get anymore of here books. in think it was the reader's voice. kind of fake aristocrat voice that started to grate after a while.

why in the world would you have a narrator who doesn't read Spanish do this book. I couldn't understand half the things she said and I speak Spanish. it takes so much away from the book to ignore the language. what a loss.
