Historia
The number one New York Times best-selling story about American Olympic triumph in Nazi Germany, the inspiration for the PBS documentary The Boys of '36, broadcast to coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 80th anniversary of the boys' gold medal race. Out of the depths of the Depression comes an irresistible story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times - the improbable, intimate account of how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant.

Good not great
Revisado: 10-02-20
This book was recommended by a friend. It held my interest for a very long drive. The plot is pretty well developed, but a little predictable. The characters were under developed. The gratuitous sex was unnecessary and distracted from the story. Too many loose ends and I'm still deciding if there will be a second chance.

Haven't enjoyed a book this much for a long time
Revisado: 10-10-17
Well written and researched as Dan Brown always does. Paul Michael's narration is masterful and amazing. His on command changes in dialect have to be heard to be believed. About half way through the book, I tried to guess where this was going and was getting a little irritated that the author might be trying to make a political statement or promote some PC point of view, but the final twists and turns were fun, unexpected and worth waiting for. Five stars is an understatement.

A good story if you can get past the "F" word
Revisado: 08-23-17
This is a pretty good story or group of stories. I expected them to be tied together a little more at the end, but each case is developed and resolved on it's own and are well written. If there were "PG" rated versions, I would try more by this author. The all too frequent use of the "f" word is unnecessary and does not add to the story line.

This is Not a NEW Book Just a changed Name!!!!!!!!

The movie might be better than the book.
Revisado: 07-28-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This is an outstanding book and story. The performance with the different voices and dialects is superb. I'd seen the movie first and didn't realize it was taken from a book, so it was fun to remember as it went along and to notice the differences in the story line. I will definitely continue the series.

Watch the language
Revisado: 07-28-16
Would you listen to The Kill Artist again? Why?
I enjoyed the book, the story, and the performance. However, the repeated and unnecessary use of the f-bomb ruined the listen for me. The book and the author came highly recommended, but I was listening with my wife and the language was highly offensive.
Would you be willing to try another book from Daniel Silva? Why or why not?
I'll watch other reviews, and might possibly try again; but it will be a while.

This is a good story for a short trip, which I define as around 3 hours each way. You can miss a little without having to backup. It is easy to listen to, but does not require constant concentration.

A Totally Forgettable Story
Revisado: 08-08-12
What did you like best about The Race? What did you like least?
I bought this book because it has airplanes in it and I like airplanes. Apart form that, the story line has all the gaps of a Louis L'Amour western, and any semblance to reality is an accident. Example: the protagonist, who taught himself to fly a more advanced airplane than any in existence, lands straddling the railroad tracks and tears the skids out from under the airplane. He commands the "mechanicians" to repair the skids and a half a page later is airborne. I only finished the book so I could hear the word mechanician some more.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
Couldn't tell the Russian accent from the Italian accent.

Revisado: 07-18-12
Where does Pathfinder rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This is a mind challenging book that might be easier to read than to listen to, but I thoroughly enjoyed the listen. I found myself rewinding the last 30 seconds on my iPad several times so I could pay closer attention to some detail I'd just missed. I will definitely listen to this audiobook a second time (at least) to find out how much I missed the first time through.
Any additional comments?
This is a fairly fast moving story line that never made me feel like it was dragging along. Plot and character development are nicely managed without being ponderous. I like a good fantasy and enjoyed watching the two story lines converge at the conclusion of the book. I read the entire "Enders" series and this book goes in a distinctly different direction, but with the familiar touch of the author.
I'm waiting on the sequel.

A little dissapointng
Revisado: 07-02-12
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I would probably recommend these to someone who is looking for a series of shorts that don't require much attention; as long as they're clear as to what they're getting. You've seen all of these stories as parts of full length James Bond stories. These barely stand on their own as presented and are in need of plot development, character development and closing.
