Historia
So begins a press release from a mysterious group known only as “The Five,” shortly after a vicious predator is murdered in San Francisco. The Five is made up of vigilante killers who are very bored…and very rich. They target the worst of society—rapists, murderers, and thieves—and then use their unlimited resources to offset the damage done by those who they’ve killed, donating untraceable Bitcoin to charities and victims via the dark net. The Five soon become popular figures in the media …though their motives may not be entirely pure.

Beyond His Depth
Revisado: 10-28-22
The authors seemed to be unable to keep his political opinions from littering the content throughout the book. Everyone is entitled to their political opinions. Some people bring a degree of thoughtfulness to political opinions from the left as well as the right. Political discourse isn’t Sanford’s strong suit. This book tends to view anyone to the right of Joe Biden as a fascist. This spoiled the book.

Save your money
Revisado: 06-02-22
This story has some of the most far fetched dialog I’ve ever heard. Criminals discussing their crimes in detail before an upcoming trial was the topper.

Historia
Listener beware: Kevin D. Williamson - the lively, literary firebrand from National Review who was too hot for The Atlantic to handle - comes to bury democracy, not to praise it. With electrifying honesty and spirit, Williamson takes a flamethrower to mob politics, the “beast with many heads” that haunts social media and what currently passes for real life. It’s destroying our capacity for individualism and dragging us down “the Road to Smurfdom, the place where the deracinated demos of the Twitter age finds itself feeling small and blue.”

Unexpectedly Great
Revisado: 04-29-21
I’m a big fan of Keven D. Williamson. I listen regularly to Mad Dogs and Englishmen which I access for free, so I wondered if this audiobook might be so similar that I’d feel I waisted a credit after listening. That concern evaporated soon after beginning to listen to this wonderful book. It caused me to feel I need and want to listen to it again, and investigate many of the other writers Kevin references. Listening also wet my appetite for other books by Kevin D. Williamson. He’s an American treasure.

Historia
Jockey Kelly Hughes and trainer Dexter Cranfield have been barred from racing - a devastating event for them both. The charge at the secret enquiry? Throwing a race for personal profit. It is a vicious frame-up and, worse, they have nowhere to turn to clear their names. Still Hughes refuses to take the phony verdict lying down - even though his personal enquiry might have him lying down permanently...

There are many things one can admire about this book. I enjoyed the plot, the pacing, and character development. But the thing I most enjoy is something that seems to fallen out of fashion. He has heroes. His heroes are guided by a moral compass that is traditional and unambiguous. It’s a quality that leaves the reader or listener better off. Thank you Dick Francis.

A Book that Made Me a Better Person
- De Jeff Diamond en 03-29-13
Great but overly stuffed
Revisado: 01-12-19
The book deals in big ideas, and I like that. Overall it’s a great story, exciting and adventurous. I found it overly romantic for my taste and philosophically childish. Hugo is very fond of overly broad generalizations. He also goes on and on at times on subjects that are pointless to the story. But getting through those gassy sections is worth the trouble.

Historia
Allen Drury has penetrated the world's stormiest political battleground and the smoke-filled committee rooms of the United States Senate to reveal the bitter conflicts set in motion when the president calls upon the Senate to confirm his controversial choice for secretary of state. This novel is a true epic, showing in fascinating detail the minds and motives of the statesmen, the opportunists, the idealists. Advise and Consent is a timeless story with clear echoes of today's headlines.

A wonderfully gripping and suspenseful novel. Though written more than fourth years ago if felt fresh and very relevant to today’s politics. If your interested in politics or world events this book is particularly enjoyable. I’ve never enjoyed an audio book more.

Faultless
Revisado: 11-05-17
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good story. It’s never tiresome, and often humorous or poignant. It may seem strange but the unrequited love seems to be the most repeated storyline. The book has well drawn characters, and there is always something interesting being described. I haven’t enjoyed any audio book more. The narration was excellent.

I really enjoyed this one. It was taught with suspense from beginning to end. I really appreciate that the author doesn't rely on profanity. That's rare these days. I'll be buying more of his work. The readers performances we very good as well.
