Good military action Sci Fy
Revisado: 09-20-17
I listen to audio books while I am driving almost exclusively, sometimes a few days between listens. Therefore I judge a book, whether it is print, e-book or audio based on whether it keeps my interest, has continuity, and if I can remember the story after being away from it for a period of time.
This book did all those things and more, it is book 5 in the series and I will admit that I had not read any of the previous books. This one is full of action and the characters are well developed even the ones that you want to hate.
I liked this book so much that I am going to get the first 4 books and listen to them to find out more of the back story and I expect that I will enjoy them as much.
I received this book for free as part of a promotion buy the author in exchange for an honest review.

Historia
Disemboweled by the razor scythes of a six-foot mantis, lobotomized by hungry larvae, or roasted on an exoskeletal skewer: these are only a few of the disgusting ways to die in humanity's hopeless war against giant space insects. Deployed on a brutal bug planet without a chaplain, a depleted infantry unit has entrusted its eulogy duties to the soldier standing closest at time of death. Somehow this rotten privilege keeps falling to Pvt. Timothy Archon.

It is Sci-Fi but not my cup of tea
Revisado: 08-18-17
The author made a valiant effort to be satiric, ironic, and funny in his efforts to eulogize various soldiers and impart the various methods of their deaths by bugs. After 4 plus hours of listening to the many deaths and the Bug/Human porn I could not take it anymore. I guess the type of humor is just not for me, sorry. Thjs audio book was given to me by the author in exchange for and honest review, sadly I did not like it very much but others may

Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Interesting and fun
Revisado: 08-08-17
What did you love best about Columbus Day?
I at first thought that the book was going to be humans would be battling aliens on earth and it would be like many other such books I have listened to. But it went from battling Hamsters, to allies to lizards on another planet and switch, etc. Then finding a sentient Beer Can with an attitude. There were a lot of plot twists that were not obvious. The main character is a clever Hick and the snarky byplay between him and Skippy ( the Beer Can) was very funny at times and interesting all the time.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Columbus Day?
The battles
What does R.C. Bray bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Mister Bray did a very good job of portraying the different characters with unique to them voices and accents. I particularly liked the narcissistic British voice he used for Skippy. You can tell he put a lot of work into adding character to all the characters so to speek
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
There were a lot of times that I laughed out loud at what was being said or done.
Any additional comments?
I have already started listening to the second book in this series and have the third on my Ipod. I am not a real fan of series books or audio books. I Like stand alone novels mostly but I like this book enough to want to listen to all of them.

Historia
Bob Johansson didn't believe in an afterlife, so waking up after being killed in a car accident was a shock. To add to the surprise, he is now a sentient computer and the controlling intelligence for a Von Neumann probe. Bob and his copies have been spreading out from Earth for 40 years now, looking for habitable planets. But that's the only part of the plan that's still in one piece.

Very enjoyable
Revisado: 08-08-17
Where does For We Are Many rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
In the top 20 percent of my all time favorite listens. Both the story and the narrator we good.
What did you like best about this story?
I liked the unique take on exploration of space, how wars are fought in the future and the selfishness of governments would try to monopolize space colonization while destroying the earth. I especially enjoyed the snarky bi plays between the characters.
Which character – as performed by Ray Porter – was your favorite?
Bobs'
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I enjoyed the whole book even to the end when I knew that I would have to buy the next one to continue the story.
Any additional comments?
It is just too bad that the times were so long between when the books were available. This is the kind of book that I would have like to listen to all 3 books one after the other
