Historia
Trauma nurse Aly Cappellucci doesn’t need any more kinks. She likes the one she’s landed on just fine. To her, nothing could top the masked men she follows online. Unless one of those men was shirtless, heavily tattooed, and waiting for her in her bedroom. She dreams about being hunted by one in particular, of him chasing her down and doing deliciously dark things to her willing body. She never could have guessed that by sending one drunken text, those dreams would become her new reality.

Lives up to the hype
Revisado: 12-18-24
The words "Tik Tok sensation" aren't usually the driving force for me to pick a book. I love Elena Wolfe and Jacob Morgan on other projects so I thought I'd try. WOW!!! I could NOT STOP listening to this book. It was a "drive 20 minutes out of my way just so I could keep listening" good book. I can't wait for the next installment.
The narration was FLAWLESS!! I absolutely LOVE the characters and their relationship to one another.
It's Not Safe for Work listening but it's oh so good to pop your headphones on and get lost in the story.
HIGHLY recommend. Do yourself a favor and spend the credit.

Historia
After war veteran Kennedy O’Brien returned home from Afghanistan and caught her husband in bed with the nanny, she lost her faith in all things male. So she started Fool Me Once Investigations to stick it to the man — because there’s no better bounty hunter than a woman scorned. Her latest job is a wild dog-chase to slap cuffs on a bail jumper turned Chihuahua thief, but thanks to her meddling family, Kennedy will have to put up with a partner. And it’s about the last man she’d ever pick: Her cheating ex-husband’s best friend, Griffin Crawford.

Narrator was a little distracting
Revisado: 11-27-24
I've had this title in my library for years and finally listened to it. Luckily it was short because I'm not sure I could have listened to the narrator for more than 4 hours. I can't tell if I really didn't like the main character or if the narrator just turned me off but I wasn't rooting for her. In fact, I thought everyone around her was being TOO nice to her - she was mean to the people in her life. If my friend/love interest/mother/daughter talked to me that way, I wouldn't respond 1/2 as well as the people in Kennedy's life did to her. I won't be continuing with the series but maybe you will like it better.

Paint your toes. Pick up the wrong coffee and bagel order. Drive from Brooklyn to Jersey in traffic so slow you want to tear your hair out. It’s amazing all the useless things I can accomplish while on hold for three hours with customer service. Three hours when I should be getting the Date-in-a-Box website ready to launch at the big business expo in a few days. Except my shiny new website is glitching, and my inner rage-monster is ready to scorch some earth...when he finally picks up. Not the robot voice I expected but a real live human named Kal.

If practice makes perfect, I should excel at pretending that Heath Miller doesn’t affect me. That I’m immune to that wide jaw, taut body, and the unique woodsy-aftershave-engine-oil scent that makes my ovaries explode. Since before I could walk, he’s been my champion. My best friend. The one problem I can’t solve. Why? If I tell him I love him, I’ll lose him and his adorable daughter. Maybe the best Christmas gift I can give him—and myself—is to turn in the keys to my B&B and put some distance between us.

Had a lot of potential
Revisado: 01-11-24
This book had a ton of potential. It had a great set up and characters I rooted for. The beginning was rushed (8 years in about 5 minutes) but I chalked that up to wanting to get to the heart of the story. We spent 9/10th of the story in the will they or won't they phase and everything was wrapped up in 15 minutes at the end. There was so much that could have been flushed out better. Overall, I enjoyed the story I just wish the author hadn't been in such a hurry to finish the book - wonder if there was a bonus for her to write it in 1 week or less.
Certainly not worth a credit but if you can get it for a few bucks it wasn't a bad way to spend a few hours. I feel a little cheated out of the heart of the story though.

Maybe not for everyone, but certainly for me!
Revisado: 12-07-23
I loved this book!. I enjoyed watching Amy on Jeopardy! and was captivated by her run. I am not a faithful watcher but I watched every night to see her succeed. She is captivating. I saw this book while scrolling thru Audible and knew I'd love to hear more about her in her own words. I was not disappointed. I appreciate her candor. My title is it's may not be for everyone. She is frank and honest and questioning and some people may feel uncomfortable but I think we all need to be a little uncomfortable every now and then in order to grow. I need more people like Amy in my life. I hope she continues the story in a few years so we can all stay in touch with her.

Completely engaging
Revisado: 10-30-23
This book was recommended to me by a friend in book club. It's not my usual genre, but I respect the person that recommended it so I took the chance and spent my credit. THANK GOODNESS! I am so grateful I took this journey. I completely enjoyed the story. It was strangely unique (yet familiar in it's themes of love and belonging) and so worth the ride. I would highly recommend.

Historia
For his victims, for their families and for the investigators tasked with finding him, the senselessness and brutality of the Golden State Killer's acts were matched only by the powerlessness they felt at failing to uncover his identity. Then, on April 24, 2018, authorities arrested 72-year-old Joseph James DeAngelo at his home in Citrus Heights, Calif., based on DNA evidence linked to the crimes. Amazingly, it seemed, evil finally had a name. Please note: This work contains descriptions of violent crime and sexual assault and may not be suitable for all listeners.

Surprisingly loved it!!
Revisado: 02-10-23
I'm not sure why I was surprised because I love Erin Mallon and Zachary Webber's narrations on other books so I figured I'd take a flyer on this. I LOVED IT!!
I found the characters captivating and their struggles realistic. Were there things that were predictable? Yes. Were some things drawn out? Yes. But at the end of the day I couldn't stop listening to the love story between Sloane and Jason. I was really invested in them as if I really knew them which doesn't happen all thought often.
I would highly recommend. I'm going back to listen to the first in the series and I hope it's equally entertaining.

Revisado: 09-27-22
I LOVE MOLLY HARPER!! Just wanted to put that out there. I thought this story sounded interesting but it all felt very rushed and convenient. Anna isn't all that likeable. She could have been if it didn't fee like a light switched and all of a sudden all her character flaws disappeared. I would have liked more development in the story and the other characters. Given the worlds the author has built in Kentucky and Alaska and Georgia, I thought this was flat and under-developed.
