Historia
Cecil Younger, local Alaskan investigator, is neither good at his job nor great at staying sober. Historia
Jack Biddlecomb has much to live up to, being as he is the eldest son of the esteemed Captain Isaac Biddlecomb, wealthy merchant captain, leading light of the War for American Independence, and newly minted congressman. Jack finds himself off to a promising start, however, when he’s given command of the merchant vessel Abigail bound from Philadelphia for Barbados. But even before the dock lines are cast off, the voyage, which should have been routine, begins to look like a stormy passage indeed.

Historia
From June 1967 to June 1968, Tom Johnson accumulated an astonishing 1,600 flying hours piloting the UH-1 "Iroquois" - better known as the "Huey" - as part of the famous First Air Cavalry Division. His battalion was one of the most decorated units of the Vietnam War, and helped redefine modern warfare. Johnson's riveting memoir takes us into key battles and rescue missions, including those for Hue and Khe Sanh. In harrowing detail, he tells of being shot down in the battle of A Shau Valley, of surviving enemy attacks during the Tet Offensive, and of a death-defying nighttime river rescue.

Too much reading from after action reports. The last few chapters are the best as they reflect the action as it happened to the pilot. Brave people, without a doubt.

Historia
Drawing on comprehensive research and his own intimate knowledge of the Vicksburg Campaign, Jeff Shaara once again weaves brilliant fiction out of the ragged cloth of historical fact. From the command tents where generals plot strategy to the ruined mansions where beleaguered citizens huddle for safety, this is a panoramic portrait of men and women whose lives are forever altered by the siege.

Excellent work. Best series I have read about the civil war.
Revisado: 01-22-20
The perspective of this book provides the reader with a unique insight into the workings of both sides of the conflict. From both the generals and common soldiers point of view, the sufferings of the civilian population of Vicksburg come to light. Perhaps Pemberton’s reputation is improved with the passage of time.

Peter Ratcliffe served in the SAS for 25 years. Blooded in Oman in the 1970s, he also saw action in Northern Ireland, in the Falklands War, and in the Gulf campaign. From his early days in the Paras to his time as Regimental Sergeant-Major in the Gulf, he has lived and fought by the motto 'who dares wins'. Eye of the Storm is his insider's account of that exceptional career.

Peter is the real deal
Revisado: 10-19-19
I met Peter in Dubai when we were both visiting Tony Osmand (RSM GREENJACKETS). Both of those gentlemen are very much the real thing, no Hollywood there. Peter was going to take me parachuting, but thankfully the wind over the drop zone was too high that day. Peter as described by RSM Osmand could navigate across the desert with nothing but a razor blade. I stand in awe of these soldiers.

Historia
The tale begins in Dark Age Britain, a land where Arthur has been banished and Merlin has disappeared, where a child-king sits unprotected on the throne, where religion vies with magic for the souls of the people. It is to this desperate land that Arthur returns, a man at once utterly human and truly heroic: a man of honor, loyalty, and amazing valor; a man who loves Guinevere more passionately than he should; a man whose life is at once tragic and triumphant.

I have read every word he has written.i think this is a work exercise for his students. Nothing but a bunch of characters not developed, and no story. Tighten up Cornwall. Ala Mitchner and Clancy.

Historia
The first storm comes from, of all places, the Minnesota zoo. Two large and very rare Amur tigers have vanished from their cage, and authorities are worried sick that they've been stolen for their body parts. Traditional Chinese medicine prizes those parts for home remedies, and people will do extreme things to get what they need. Some of them are a great deal more extreme than others - as Virgil is about to find out.
