First of all Oliver Wyman has to be one of the best performers of audio, although I miss Agent Franks from this book. Oliver has a knack for making the characters unique, audibly. Another strong book in the series, although it is more of a bridge than I thought it would be. I, for some reason, thought this was going to be more of an ending, thankfully, I was mistaken. We get to look forward to future MHI adventures with lots of cliff hangers, left unanswered. I like the story, but I gave it 4 stars probably because I was partial to Nemesis more, because Agent Franks has become my favorite character. However, I do look forward to finding out what will happen going forward. Thanks, Larry Correia for years of good reading across many genre, love all your books.

Quick hilarious Sci-Fi story with many cameos, including the author himself. Mr. Carreia should be warned that, if he has not been already, someone is typing his name onto a Media/Hollywood blacklist somewhere as well as probably a no fly list or two.

A new saga and it does not disappoint

I am so pleased that Mr. Correia has "quit" his day job and taken up writing full time. His stories always create a lavish new world. I enjoyed them all. Son of the Black Sword was no different. Mr. Correia loads this tale with suspense and of course, surprises. He also does a truly courageous job of building and developing a flawed main character. A main character that kicks ass, while going through a paradigm shift from one life role to an entirely counter life role. I will not say much more than that. Do not want to give away anything. Read it. You will not regret it.

It was Free for a reason

If you're not familiar with the written version, you will probably find yourself quite lost. It's hard to tell who's who or what's happening. Such a twisting turning story needs more narration because many characters sound identical, and the story moves quickly and hops from location to location. Worse than that, many of the protagonists, mainly the teenagers, are unbelievably clueless. It's hard to root for people that are just so ignorant. I do not want to give away parts of the story, but when someone asks about something that any sane person would not be asking about, over and over, hey, that's a red flag. The author also seemed to stretch the story out to cover all the cookie cutter social and political spectrum, from guns to racism to homosexuality, he only managed to make them all stereotypical clichés. Last but not least, has anyone in the King family ever written a book that does not have a major character fighting alcoholism? Everyone understands that addiction is a serious issue. I love a lot of their work, but we have been attending these AA meetings for over 4 decades. It gets old.

End of the World

This is an awesome ending (or is it?) to a wonderful series. Mr. Correia brings it home with non-stop action, as our heroes joined by an unlikely ally fight an enemy bent on sucking the entire planet dry of life.

Another great read in Mr. Correia's epic world of altered history where magic is real and a few lucky, or unlucky souls, possess it. This book adds new enemies for our heroes to fight. Enemies from an unlikely source, our own government.

New World History, New World Spin

Mr. Correia does it again. I have become a big fan, and I approach each of his new series with trepidation expecting a disappointment. I was far from disappointed. This series is as good as Mr. Correia other series. It re-writes history and covers it with a blanket of magic. Any fans of super powered heroes fighting super powered foes will love these books. The characters are great and the action is furious as the author manages to pull you into his new imaginary world while keeping you on your toes with plot shifts. I gave the performance a 4 instead of a 5 because the narrator, from time to time, reads with a certain sarcasm. This sarcasm does not fit the characters he's narrating. It is not frequent, but it can be quite distracting.

What did you love best about Legacy?

The authors' over the top sense of politcal humor.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Senate hopeful Liz Warren because she's exemplifies how many people view politicians. Mainly she thinks she is smarter than everyone, is entitled, and will do anything to get elected.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

This is a full blown production with sound effects, multiple voices, and mood music. It brought the book alive. It made it almost like an audible action comic book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, like most of the Destroyer series, it was relatively short. So, it kept you involved. It's almost as if it was meant for one sitting.

Any additional comments?

The Destroyer Series is a long time favorite of mine. I wish Audible had more of these books available. (I have seen some on tapes...yes cassette tapes, at truck stops, yet Audible only has 2 available. I believe GraphicAudio has done many more.

Would you listen to Monster Hunter Nemesis again? Why?

Yes, actually, I am considering starting the entire series over. Just to see if there was anything I missed with this badass federal agent in previous books.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Monster Hunter Nemesis?

The truck in the cargo plane scene. I will leave it at that.

What about Oliver Wyman’s performance did you like?

He does an excellent job of character variations, especially when some of the characters are monsters.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Agent Franks has become public enemy number one.
Now, the feds are hunting him, super soldiers infused with demons want him dead, and monster hunters from around the world want to take a shot at this once legendary agent.
All this does is make him mad.

Any additional comments?

Larry Correia never ceases to surprise me with each of his novels. They might be heaping helpings of bullets mixed with testosterone, but in this feel good age, us men need our anti-twilight series reads. Where monsters are still monsters, and someone needs to put them down. I have expanded out from MHI to his other books. Nope, still not disappointed. (Except when they end, and I have to wait for him to finish his next in the series.)

Would you consider the audio edition of Slave Safari to be better than the print version?

Actually, yes, the performance is excellent.

Chuin demanding to find the Washington Pollsters because his Soaps were cancelled to broadcast Watergate coverage.

Which scene was your favorite?

Remo "eliminating" 2 companies of men, de-tusking several elephants, and disabling six jeeps, all while naked.

The Sun Source of Martial Arts comes to Africa.
