Historia
Rachel Jenner is walking in a Bristol park with her eight-year-old son, Ben, when he asks if he can run ahead. It's an ordinary request on an ordinary Sunday afternoon, and Rachel has no reason to worry - until Ben vanishes. Police are called, search parties go out, and Rachel, already insecure after her recent divorce, feels herself coming undone. As hours and then days pass without a sign of Ben, everyone who knew him is called into question, from Rachel's newly married ex-husband to her mother-of-the-year sister.

Story is gripping
Revisado: 02-21-17
Love the story. I was absolutely addicted. However the reason for just 4 stars is the narrators. The woman speaks too slowly and the man speaks too fast. I had to keep switching the speed of the playback from speed 1 to 1.25. Excellent story though. Unpredictable.

Historia
America's favorite bounty hunter is back behind the wheel in her fifth hilarious, high-octane thriller. Out of bail skippers and rent money, Stephanie Plum strikes out on her own. Okay, so a scumball blows himself to bits on her first day of policing a crack house, and the sheik she was chauffeuring steals the limo. But hey, nobody's perfect.

Hate the narrator!

Can't stand this narrator but really want to hear the whole series. At least it was abridged and I didn't have to put up with her for too long. One more with her. Sigh.

Historia
Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is back. The brassy babe in the powder blue Buick has been given the unpopular task of finding Mo Bedemier, Trenton's most beloved citizen, arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, gone no-show for his court appearance. Once again, the entire One for the Money crew is in action, searching for Mo, tripping down a trail littered with dead drug dealers, leading Stephanie to suspect Mo may be in over his head.

Worth a listen
Revisado: 11-10-15
Evanovich is a good author. I like how the characters are developing. There's enough of them to keep it interesting. Still don't like Critt (narrator). Too old, too slow and breathes too loud. I do like the discernible voices though. Really disappointed two of the early books aren't available on Audible (I think it's 5 & 6). Stephanie is definitely a fun character. Love that it all takes place close to my neck of the woods (NJ).

Good, but not great
Revisado: 11-04-15
What did you like best about Fifty Shades Freed? What did you like least?
I liked that it tied up all the loose ends and completed the trilogy (finished the entire story). (SPOILER ALERT!) Not crazy about how they become the all-American happy family - married with 2 opposite sex children. Seems a bit too "picture perfect".
What could E. L. James have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
I hate that James keeps using the same words or phrases over and over again - buy this woman a thesaurus! Also not crazy that she starts the book months ahead and has the characters introspectively remembering the past, thus filling the reader in on what happened earlier. She seems to do that a lot in this book.
Which scene was your favorite?
Not sure I had a favorite.
Do you think Fifty Shades Freed needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Nah. If she wrote one, I may just get the abridged version. As stated above, the incessant use of certain words/phrases drives me nuts. Also (as stated above) they become just too much a somewhat "normal" family.
Any additional comments?
Glad I read it, but glad it's over. On to something else - better written.

It's about time!
Revisado: 11-04-15
Would you listen to Grey again? Why?
I'm not into re-reading books very often, so probably not.
What other book might you compare Grey to and why?
Can't think of one, sorry.
Have you listened to any of Zachary Webber’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No... but I thought he did a good job.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
What a dumb question. No parts of this book are particularly "moving". I could, however, feel his pain when he was going through the "very hard time"... don't want to spoil anything here, but people who know the story will know what I mean.
Any additional comments?
I read 50 Shades, then this book, then 50 Shades Darker & 50 Shades Freed. Definitely the way to do it. After understanding his perspective, I was able to guess how he was thinking & feeling in the 2nd two books. Definitely worth a read (or listen) if you've read the first 50 Shades.

Good but a little frustrating
Revisado: 11-04-15
What did you love best about Fifty Shades of Grey?
I liked the chase... both main characters couldn't seem to stay away from each other.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I guess I liked Ana... her perspective and thoughts are funny.
What does Becca Battoe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I liked the inflection in her voice as she said what the characters said. However, it wasn't always clear whether the character was thinking it or actually saying it.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I can't do any one activity for hours on end... I get bored.
Any additional comments?
This point is the author's fault - I couldn't stand how she seemed to use the same phrases over and over and over and over and over again. "My breath hitched..." "...he murmured" - everyone seems to murmur. She does it with different phrases in each of the three books. Now that I've moved on to another series I can't remember them all but every time one came up I wanted to scream. Authors need wide ranges of words!!!!

Historia
Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is back, packing a whole lot of attitude. This time around, she's on the trail of Kenny Mancuso, a boy from the working-class burg of Trenton, New Jersey, who has just shot his best friend. Fresh out of the Army and suspiciously wealthy, Mancuso's also distantly related to Joe Morelli, a vice cop with questionable ethics, a libido in permanent overdrive, and a habit of horning in on Stephanie's investigations.

Love the story - not so much CJ Critt
Revisado: 11-04-15
Where does Two for the Dough rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Love the sense of humor of the author, and love that it takes place in NJ (where I live).
What did you like best about this story?
The parts that make me laugh!
How did the narrator detract from the book?
The voice definitely doesn't sound like a 30 year old woman (as the main character is). I also don't like her heavy breaths at every pause. She talks very slow, but I have fixed that by listening to it at 1.25 speed. :-) At least the different voices in the story are discernible!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Not necessarily. Personally, I have a hard time doing any one thing for hours on end.
Any additional comments?
I'm moving on to the third in the series. NOT HAPPY that the 5th and 6th books are not available! Come on Audible!
